Sounds like either spring and damping do not match, or they are simply just too hard. Have you measured sag with no load and you sitting normally in full riding gear? I would start there. If the spring rate seems fine, the issue is damping. Both too little and too much damping can lead to a harsh ride. Here is a video discussing and showing rebound damping https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXDL_jREhEE

I bought a set of Hagons for my '21 V7 to replace the OEM shocks that I felt were too stiff - . I ordered the Hagons, supplying my weight w/gear so they would supply the appropriate spring. They are TERRIBLE. There is almost no "shock absorbing." Some normal road potholes, etc are painful in the spine. I've had them on the bike for about 6 months now and have tried spring settings from literally loose on the shock mount to quite tight (full length screw type adjustment for the springs). VERY disappointed. I didn't think the OEM shocks were very good but I don't recall them being this bad. Since other folks have had good results with Hagon, I'm wondering if they (Hagon) misread my weight and added 50+Kg to it... My next project is to remove them/reinstall the OEMs.

I believe they are YSS as the PO left a brochure on YSS with some other papers. But I do think I will repair as I know nothing about that.

Brake Rotor Minimum Thickness

Take from this what you will and I know I will get grief for this but here's my 2 cents. Disc on my T is all but new and measures 6.10. A friend with a collection of Guzzi's including a very quick street racing sidecar said all his discs are sitting around 5.25. He rides hard and said he has never had a issue. As I said make of this what you will its only one person's experience.

I second Hagon's. Had them on several bikes in the past, and they are currently on my 99 Bassa. Good value for $$.

Bike you wanted but never bought...

I’ve admired many bikes over the years. One by one I ended up with the most meaningful bikes to me. Moto Guzzi Convert, G5, V11 Bassa (x2), V10 Centauro, Griso 1200 8v, Honda Valkyrie Interstate (x2) etc. Until a year ago it was a Moto Guzzi Eldorado 1400. Now I have a gorgeous one and my motorcycle yearnings have stopped. The highly modified Guzzi and my highly modified Victory Hard-Ball have scratched every motorcycle itch I’ve ever had. It’s good to be content.

2009 Norge keys

^ yeah, the person I am communicating with, may, or may not have motorcycle experience. Yes, they believe, that with virtually no miles, they have a valuable unicorn. At a bare minimum, it will need tires, and all fluids, filter changed.

2009 Norge keys

Quote from: sdcr on Today at 04:16:26 PM Price has fluctuated in the ad….$4500, 4000. I won’t know until Thursday when I hope to see it Condition is questionable, as it only has 800 miles, but obviously has been sitting, and possibly neglected. Sellers often think low miles create exponential value and while low miles is nicer than high miles in most instances low mileage add a couple percent at best. This bike was discussed before and honestly at 4k 4.5K is a very healthy ask for a 17-1/2 year old fringe model from a fringe brand that less than 1% of the motorcycling community might be interested in. Then couple that with a severely depressed motorcycle then factor in that its been sitting and will need a healthy does of elbow grease and more money to get it right, nothing is helping this bike retain value. Heck a set of tires and its going to need tires is going to be $600+/- for something remotely decent. IMHO the value of the bike substantially less than what the seller is asking and I'm sure the seller is going to get offended at any offer less than 3.8K because they have a low mileage rare exotic.

Quote from: sdcr on Today at 04:18:55 PM Have not seen the bike in the flesh, it’s been a challenging communication, as there are several parties involved. Where is the fuse box? I should be able to see it tomorrow. I relocated mine, but it is in the back section just in front of the tail light under the seat.

TPMS 2026 V85TT Travel?

The Travels still get TPMS (just confirmed on a bike on showroom) They do leave it out of the literature. You can confirm right under seat, receiver sits on top of ECU, square box. do you get any readings on the pressure screen? If not, it may need activation inside the ECU. When its added as an accy to the other V85s, we have to activate it and then synch the sensors to it. Maybe yours was turned off at the factory for some reason? or somehow got turned off during a PDI ecu update?

2009 Norge keys

Quote from: sdcr on Today at 09:56:11 AM Looking at a 2009 Norge, which hasn’t been run in many years. The person showing me the bike, is T the owner, and knows very little about it. So, what should I be looking for? Two keys? Anything about the red triangle that I should be aware of? If it starts, any odd noises? 2 keys are nice, but you can can have one clone copied even if the personal user code is not known. The personal user code is needed to officially add OEM keys to the dash. user code was 00000 from MG, but now could be set to anything. If its still 00000, you will get a reminder notice to change it for a few seconds at every key-on that goes away, it says "please inert user code" for a few seconds.
