Hi! Not sure if I'm correct here, just joined the group. A solid 2 months ago I bought a lovely 1997 300ZX Z32 in a beautiful purple color. It's been a great car so far and I love it with all my soul as it's the first sports car I've owned since I am only 20 🤣 I did encounter a problem yesterday after work though. My front windshield wipers always worked with no problem, showing no signs of giving up. Then, on my way home from work, as I turned them on in the rain, they swiped once and then stopped working. I pulled over to check if turning the car on and off would solve it, which it didn't. I was able to freely move them around but as soon as they reached the top position (vertically infront of my view), they blocked there completely. I replaced the fuse and checked the relay, both of which don't seem to have any issues. When I try to turn the wipers on, all I hear is the motor or the relay seemingly clicking twice before going quiet. The washers however work, and tge rear wiler as well with no issues. What could the problem be?
Hiya, i'm new around here and joined for information and also advice into how i should go about dealing with my Z. I bought this Z a few months back with a relatively unknown history, the only real info i had was that the engine was rebuilt in the last 5 years or so, has atleast a few minor mods (radiator, BOV, potentially turbo stuff?) and that the car ran decently well. i've come to self diagnose that my knock sensor is knackered, my speed sensor either has a bad ground, worn out or needs a solder fix in the dash(0-5mph wiggle upon being stationary occasionally), and due to the 5~ years since an engine rebuild i think the timing belt + tensioners require doing just for peace of mind (the cars only done 4k miles since the rebuild) i'm more electrically inclined than mechanically inclined so i wanted to ask for any reccomendations for shops that are familliar with z's to fix my knock sensor and change the belt + tensioners and to perhaps have a quick look over the general state of parts on the car. The only place i know of is PowerZed but its quite a trek (which i guess isn't the end of the world if y'all reccomend that as the place to go).
New on here, recently bought totally original fairlady z, with less than 40000 miles on it, Japanese import, very clean
Hey new member! I came across this page and found a lot of useful info that’s been helping me with my NA-TT build. I’m currently making a parts list and usually get most of my parts from Z1, CZP, or Facebook Marketplace when I find a good deal. I live in Queens, NYC. I’ve repainted my car twice, still the same color because I’m picky, and I’ve also done custom projector headlights twice. I’m riding on coilovers with the 99 JDM nose 2+2. Thanks for allowing me to join the page!
I have had the odd running issue with my Zed the last couple of months - an intermittent miss-fire when cold, sticky throttle after a long fast run, and the speed sensor failed again last week after trying Jeff's old epoxy resin fix a while back..... ....So I did what we advise everyone else to do and called Jimmer. Jim recommended the full engine loom replacement, new ethanol friendly injectors, ERG delete, new rocker cover gaskets and a plenum tart-up with new bolts etc., to improve the engine bay appearance! So I dropped the car at Powerzed on Monday morning and Jim sent me the first progress pictures today! And while it's there he'll be fitting a few other new parts, including the brand new OEM speed sensor I got from Japan. More pics to follow no doubt 😉
Hey so I'll make this short. A year ago I bought a sight on scene 300zx for about 6k on ebay, the seller only had 2 sales. Now you're thinking "wow, nice shitbox" thank you! I know I'm so proud, but here's where it gets really confusing.... Inside the glovebox was a some papers from a place called outlaw customs ltd Now when I first got the car I thought I'd give them a call, it rang but no answer. I tried multiple times on both numbers but no answer. I later found out the company has dissolved. I'm essentially putting some feelers out because I have no idea who owned the car, I have an idea that a Mike built it, but no way of contacting either. The car had been sat for around 6 years, there is a plate on the timing cover saying the engine was built in 2019 at around such and such miles and when it came into my possession the car only had a difference of around 200-300 miles. it ran perfectly fine although 6 years of old fuel in the tank and lines wasn't the best. however I've yet to really test that mental bhp figure in fear that I'll send a piston into orbit without knowing more about if things have changed since etc. please help me beautiful z nerds <3
The Goodwood Youtube channel have posted a vid around the 300ZX IMSA car's appearance at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdeHAT-6U0U
New retro remote has arrived, been wanting a new fob for a long time and finally found one. Just needs programmed for my zed which i hopefully can do.
