Forum PIP claim help, plus ESA, DLA & Universal Credit

I've been placed into the WRAG for ESA, and want to ask for a MR. All the guides say write or call the DWP. However, I have a reasonable adjustment in place with them for communicating by email. Therefore does anyone know if I can just email them the form/letter or do I have to post it?

Hello,My wife has received a letter saying her Adult Disability Payment is due for review on 6 October 2026. The letter says that the review pack will contain a "decision report" which explains what she was awarded and why.I am unsure whether this refers to:the original/current decision report from when her existing award was made, ora new decision report that will be produced as part of the review process.Could you please clarify this?Thank you.

I have been receiving the higher rate care and mobility components of DLA since around 1993 and have been waiting for many years for my 'invitation' to claim PIP. I am now 69 and a state pensioner and still receive monthly payments of DLA and have a car on the Motability scheme. Does anyone know when pensioners in my position will be migrated to PIP? In the Benefits and Work news about migrations it seems to apply only to those between 18 and 64. I have spent years worrying about this issue to the detriment of my health, and would be so grateful if someone could give me advice. Many thanks.

Hi! I'd sent in a letter to the DWP equivalent in July following my catract and laser surgery. I hadn't heard anything and I'd sent it registered post. I called up today to see if they had received the letter. It was explained to me that this was sent to the reconsiderations team to review and they'll get to it when they can. I then asked what happens if my circumstances changed post-surgery as my vision is now stable for now. My next review would've been in July 2028 extended from October 2027. I didn't realise I had to ask for a change of circumstances. What I didn't want to happen is to get to July 2028 and for them to turnaround and say why I hadn't told them about the change of circumstances. I think based on the pip descriptions I'd receive PIP standard daily living but not mobility. I've also long covid since my last review in 2023. Whether it was right to ask for a change of circumstances or wait until the review in July 2028 - I don't know if I've jumped the gun!. I would've been receiving something I'm not entitled to. I've a few questions: Is it treated like a new application? Will they compare my review in 2023 to my new application? Do I submit the same evidence as before if they already have it on file? Did I jump the gun on asking for a CoC? What's the difference between waiting on the review in 28 and a CoC? Any advice or suggestions. Thanks

Hi, I'm appointee for my 16 year old autistic dtr. Have just had a text informing me of face to face assessment date ( I had the impression it would be a telephone appointment but guess I was mistaken there) As appointee I assume I can attend without her - this is the whole point of me becoming appointee, it would be too much for her to attend, even if only I speak. Is my assumption correct, and is there relevant govt guidance in case serco say she must attend? I'm getting paranoid after a spot of googling! Thanks in advance

I am not sure if there is an 'admin-representative on this evening however, I have a very simple question. In July, I renewed my subscription with you for the next twelve months. I have not received the weekly emails that you send out for a number of weeks now. Has anyone else had a similar issue? I find the weekly emails so helpful and informative. If and when one of the admin team read this, could you please look into this for me? Chris

Good afternoon I recieved an AR2 form to complete on 24thAugust 2026. Completed and ticked the boxes with more information supplied from myself , Drs and physiotherapists including reports from adaptations and a request from a Dr to supply me with make me some some suitable footwear through my local NHS hospital I sent all copied information Special Delivery via the Post Office 27 August 2026 recieved at the mailing centre Wolverhampton 28th August Thursday 3rd Sept they had recieved the form and would contact me if they required more information. This morning I recieved a text telling me they had made a decision 7th Sept 2026 and I would hear in the next 2 weeks I am worrying as nowhere can I find a decision can be made within3 working days of reciept I had PIP awarded 10 years ago for full mobility and daily living I will never get any better as I was born with my condition there's nothing can be done I cannot find anywhere where a decision has been made within a short space. The AR2 end date was not due until 13th September 2026 I did ring up requesting a copy of statement of reasons. My decision is ready to be printed and posted this evening. If I want a copy of the decision I have to ring tomorrow. Does anyone know of anyone who has had a decision within a short space of time? Thank you.

Hello, my pip review took 2 months and was successful. My question is , the new start date was 5th August, my original next scheduled payment is 21st September, will this continue? Thank you.

Hi David. This is a funny coincidence as I also have two letters from 2013 and another from 2017 in which my consultant and GP both directly quoted regulation 29 and said in their opinion my physical health would be detrimentally affected if I was not found to have limited capability for work. It's also how I won my tribunal in 2013 and in 2017 was successful first time around as I once again had to reduce down to part time hours. As my own cancer was 1999 to 2001 I haven't wanted to ask my current respiratory consultant or GP as I didn't think I needed them as I thought I had enough evidence with my historic evidence alongside 3 occ health reports and up to date lung function test results from April this year. The decision make told me over the phone that although my evidence was substantial she couldn't override the assessor as her report was made just a week ago and my letters were historic, and my latest Occ health report from March this year. My problem is because I have three times come off of benefits to attempt full time work, the last time in 2024, which I sustained until February this year. I have to say this experience is putting me off every trying again. They say people have a right to try but that has not been my experience over the years.

Hello, I am facing the following problems with UC who make mistakes then refuse to rectify them : I have currently two live UC Appeals : The first Case relates strictly to my missing Universal Credit disability elements. My second June 26 recent case relates to fabricated overpayment. The DWP claims I failed to declare a pension. This is a complete fabrication. My partner receives a pension paid contractually on a quarterly basis every three months, The DWP Review Team has committed a gross calculation failure by inputting this three month quarterly sum into their automated system as a single monthly payment. Instead of dividing the quarter by three, their software treated the quarterly payment as a monthly figure, artificially tripling our household income and backdating this software glitch over 26 months to manufacture a fictitious £6,543.81 pence overpayment balance. I have already uploaded my UC Journals original June Statement alongside the Amended June Statement proving that on 29 July 2026 the DWP retroactively altered my paid history to hide this blunder. That leaves us with £147.00 this month to live off, UC will not cancel the deductions of these payments whilst waiting for this latest Appeal, our first appeal has been going now for 2 years because UC will not provide an offset statement myself and the judges have asked for. Hi there - looking at your excellent guide on MR and appeals and challenging a medical report. Can you challenge the report at the MR stage or is that more at appeal? How much detail is needed at MR if it is difficult to get evidence (the joy of managing long term health conditions and the medical lot just letting you get on with it)? Given how stressful it is and how few decisions get overturned at MR stage is it better to do less just to get you to the next stage of appeal? I know that in itself is long and stressful though. Anyway - interested in your thoughts.
