Now that the kids are all grown, and moved out, we've sold our alloy powerboat which was suitable for up to six people, and we are downsizing to something suitable for two. I have been using Hullform since about 1993 version 6 I think. At the time I looked at several options including Vacanti. Macsurf was at the time Mac only and expensive. Plus Hullform was Australian, and it is similar to drawing with fairing curves on paper. It does have it's limitations however. I have been using for radio yacht design since that time, and as 9P will near the end of it's life I am reluctantly going over to Delftship Pro. I do have one question though. Has anyone used... Just a thought,...for an adventurous, open minded, multihull oriented sailor to consider. There are a number of used catamarans out there in the market. I think this video is very informative on the subject,.. There are a fair number of these boats that have experienced bulkhead problems up under their mast. These problems are more problematic due to the mast compression loading onto that bulkhead rather than problems affecting the overall integrity of the boat itself ... Read more

Got the idea to make use of some of my beachcat parts and planning a trimaran project to be sailed 2023. Will use an old Panthercraft Tornado hull as aka and a pair of fresh Nacra 5.5 hulls as akas. Length 6.1m, beam 4.5m with upwind SA 22.35 sqm. The Tornado hull is the one to be modified as it is in bad shape and anyway needs to be reinforced and repaired. A number of years ago I was visiting a friends second home in Lunenburg NS. I got to view this vessel that was once owned by Gen Patton. This past weekend in Lunenburg NS, there appear a few 'tall ships',...not the real big ones, but a nice little selection. And I believe he worked with Bruce King for some period of time, another rather masterful designer. I don't think I know of your work Timm.
