Hi all, I hate for my first post here to be me asking for help but that's what it's going to be. This forum has been extremely helpful since I've owned this truck, going on 6 years now. I have consulted here first probably a dozen times. Over the past few weeks I have been working away at making my truck (2000 Ram 2500 4x4 225,000 miles) a decent daily driver. Since I've owned it, a few things have bugged me about it- weak A/C, sometimes long starts, some leaks, both fuel and oil, and I set... Engine Misfire Post Reseal and A/C Rebuild

Cracked overdrive housing, do you guys think it can be welded possibly in the truck or would it need removed? Gotta drop the whole trans right?
(This is a 2001 doge ram 2500 5.9 Cummins with the 5 speed) I’m having a issue with this truck, every time I dive the truck and get going to second (doesn’t matter what gear it is) and I’m getting ready to slow down to stop and when I slide it into neutral the rpms drop but then it will bounce around looking for idle and it eventually return to normal. Since this first started happening I have put a new vp44 through bred I know they have dropped in quality recently unfortunately, apps... Engine idle/ hunting for idle
I have been fighting a long crank after sitting for a few months now. I have replaced the supply and return lines from the sump to the fass and the supply line from the fass to the VP44. I have replaced the sealing washers on the banjo bolts at the back of the head and the overflow on the VP44. I have checked all of the feed tube o-rings (less than 10k mi on new feed tubes and o-rings) and replaced the seals in the return tee fitting. I have swapped in a known good VP44 with the same long... 24 Valve Long Cranking After Sitting
Hello Guys. First time posting here. Today my truck ran all morning with no problems. Later in the day when i went to start the truck it crank a no start at all. Checked for codes and shows P 0122 , P0500 and P 1693. Any help on where to start problem solving or what might be wrong
Hey guys, I bought the truck in my signature last December. I've put about 5k miles on it so far, mostly empty. I had been running it on the default level 2 tune most of the time. The guy that sold it to me sent me his towing tune. I've been working to get all of the kinks worked out of it so it's ready to haul my mini ex home when I find the right one. Anyway, I've been towing my landscape maintenance setup with it the last few days, and have realized that the default tuning is terribly... Quadzilla Adrenaline Tuning, Towing, EGTs
I’d love to see some pictures of clean install. I don’t know where to start
I will start off by saying the heaviest I tow is about 15000lbs. Small fifth wheel with a TJ on a tow bar behind it. Trans was rebuilt 17 years ago with all the goodies I could get except the coolers. For the last 3 years I have towed the Jeep combo. Last year I broke fifth gear.It didn't walk off because I have the cog that holds it on.Now I had it rebuilt again with everything I could get upgraded including the coolers. I am really concerend about reliability at this point. We travel a lot... NV4500 Help/Concerns
Haven't gotten around to joining this site! Finally found the truck I spent years searching for. Just wanted a plain white fleet style g56 3500 longbox and found it last summer. Got a smoking deal and bought sight unseen. Only had 143,000 km. I'm curious if anyone can decode the vin! I'm curious if it was one of the final few produced or any information it may disclose.
i didn’t know the 2001 don’t have crank sensors and i pulled the dummy plug that was in there and tore it up. and can’t find anything to replace it with and can’t put an actual sensor because the starter won’t fit. anyone know what i could use or a link to the oem or aftermarket part they used
I was told that a 6.7 head will fit on a 5.9 block, and even outflow the best 5.9 common rail head..... So, let's discuss.......
Hey guys, one of my friends recently got a really nice '01 24v. Unfortunately it is the 53 block, but its pretty low miles so hopefully it'll last a while still. Anyway, we went for a drive the other day and I noticed every time she would let off the throttle after a hard acceleration the turbo would flutter/bark. I know this is pretty common on a lot of built cars, but I don't hear it often on diesel and have never personally heard it on my '06. What actually causes this? I know its... Is turbo flutter/bark an issue? If so what is the fix?
