Hi! I've done (well, are these things ever finished?) an electric conversion of a classic moped. It actually consists of parts from here and there, but most are from Zündapp, so I'm saying it's a Zündapp. It also says so on the gas tank, which by the Swedish saying is what counts ("det är tanken som räknas")! I bought it in a good condition without the original engine, so most of the bike styling is not thanks to me. The mopeds from the 70s/80s were capped at 30 km/h, which was also my... Read more

Hi all, I could use some collective wisdom on a strange (and honestly a bit scary) behaviour I'm seeing, before I assume it's a firmware bug, it may well be my config or my understanding. SETUP: MakerX Go-FOC G300 (300 A class VESC-based ESC), official VESC firmware 7.00 built from the `release_7_00` branch (also reproduced on the stock MakerX build), 14-pole 150 kV motor, PPM remote, tested on both 14S and 18S. Motor detection via the wizard, field weakening off, phase filters on. All... Read more
Hi guys! **STOP** **STOP** **READ THIS WARNING FIRST** **IF YOU BUY ONE OF THESE UNITS ONLINE AND YOU ARE NOT A MECHANIC BUYER BEWARE** **WHEN I RECEIVED THIS UNIT WITHIN THE FIRST 3 MILES THE FRONT WHEEL BECAME LOOSE. BOTH AXEL NUTS COULD BE SPUN BY HAND. THE LEFT SIDE REAR AXEL NUT COULD BE SPUN BY HAND. I CHECKED EVERY BOLT AFTER THIS HAPPENED. THE TOP TREE CLAMP ON THE FORKS WAS BARELY ON. ALL OF THE TREE CLAMPS ON THE TUBES HOLDING THE BARS ARE BARELY TIGHT. ONE OF THE BOLTS HOLDING... Read more

Hey everyone, I'm planning to build a few battery packs (2x 10s2p and 1x 10s3p), so I’m looking for a budget-friendly spot welder that can handle the job without too much hassle. I've been browsing AliExpress and found a few options, but I’m not sure which one (if any) would be a good fit: Option 1 Option 2 Option 3 Option 4 Option 5 Option 6 Has anyone used any of these? Are they reliable enough for a small project like... Read more
Is it easy to make a throttle switch for a Bafang motor? I mean turning off the gas, because our legislation does not allow it.

Hi, I was made aware of a new offering over at BMSBattery today: "SDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor". https://bmsbattery.com/home/803-sdz2-torque-sensor-central-motor.html Seems like a an attractive alternative to the Bafang BBS, $50 cheaper, with torque sensor, better installation guide etc. It also looks very very similar to what Schachner ( http://elektrobikes.com/Bausatz ) is offering with their "MM15" which I suppose is a good thing. Not much information to find anywhere... Read more
