F650GS Twin rear hub/sprocket carrier wobble

Hi all, I recently bought the bike, and while lubing the chain I noticed some wobble/play in the rear wheel hub/sprocket carrier. I had a friend who used to own and repair these bikes take a look. He inspected the cush drive rubbers and said they were fine, and suggested the play was coming from the rear sprocket. I replaced the rear sprocket, front sprocket, and chain (the old chain was in really bad shape), but the play/wobble is still there. Can anyone point me in the right direction... Aftermarket headlight options for F800GT?

I think the title speaks for itself... I'm only exploring options at the moment. But I have found virtually none for the f800gt. There are plenty of aftermarket headlight options for the 800R. But they are completely different assemblies, right? I personally love this headlight. I remember seeing a GS with this a couple months ago. And then today he was in my rear view again. Anyone have any idea of a similar style headlight for the GT? I think it has... Aftermarket headlight options for F800GT?

NE Georgia / Atlanta Metro Area Roll Call

I recently purchased my F800GT and was interested in finding a new group of riding buddies. I've mostly had cruisers over the years - Yamaha and Kawasaki. Then I bought a Ninja 650 two years ago and found myself riding that twice as often as my Vulcan. Long story short, I sold both and split the difference with the BMW. Well, split the difference in functionality, upgraded features and quality. Anyway, I can't see myself riding the F800 with my old cruiser buddies since I've migrated to a... 2014 GT speedometer accuracy

Hi fellow riders and enthusiasts, I'm looking for input on the inaccuracy of GT speedometers at 60 or 70 mph. Thoughts? Thanks as always.

LED headlight and dipped light bulbs

This topic has probably been discussed to death, but can anyone recommend LED bulbs to replace the main and dip beams on my 2015 F800GT, which will not overheat, or flicker, or throw up issues via the CANbus, and will give a pattern the MOT station will be happy with. I’m getting tired of having to replace high output H7 Halogens every 2 to 3 months.

Worst Jokes Ever!!!

What did the baby light bulb say to his mama? I love you watts and watts. A horse walks into a bar and the bartender says "Why the long face?" A fish swims into a concrete wall and says "Dam!!" Dyslexics of the world untie!!! I often miss my ex, but my aim is improving If you're opposed to gay marriage, blame straight couples. They're the ones having all the gay babies. What's the difference between a woman with PMS and a pitbull? Lipstick.

Rusty bolts

Hi all, I have a 2009 F800R. It was a garage ornament for ages so has only got 30k kms on the clock. In the few weeks I have owned it, I have run up about 2500kms as I use it for my commute which is 450-500kms a week. So its winter here in NZ and as a consequence the bike has probably seen more rain, wind and sleet in those few weeks than the rest of its life. Just FYI, in NZ we do not put grit or salt on the roads in winter, at least not in my part of the country. Anyway, a lot of the... Rusty bolts

Premature belt wear

I've just replaced my drive belt, just 18 months after I last replaced it. Not sure on exact amount of mileage it has done, but it will be around 12,000 miles. This seems way too short a period compared to previous belts I've had, some of which have done well over 30000 miles before failing. The're no obvious excessive play in the pulleys, and the belt runs up tight against the guide on the rear pulley. I haven't adjusted the tension on the belt, but i can get around 45deg of twist on it... Premature belt wear

Shock swap

I own a 2013 f800r that 95% of the time is used with wifey as pillion and with 28,000 miles, the rear shock is feeling a bit tired now and looking to replace it, if I buy low mileage second hand, will the f800gt shock be more suitable for two up riding, if so, is it a straight swap, or any recommendations for a reasonably priced new one.
