Evening all, I’m sure this has probably it been covered to death but just gonna ask again 😬 when one is fishing and there are fish rising around you but there doesn’t seem to be an obvious fly coming off the water (may flies, caddies etc.) how do you work out what our finned foe is eating? This has happened to me both times fishing on the Ayr, fish rising left right and centre but I really struggled to narrow down what they were having Is it a case of trial and error or is there a better... So enjoying tying the smaller sizes lately but have noticed that getting them in and out of the foam and various boxes I have a pain in the rear... Can you get fly boxes designed for a smaller fly or is it one size fits all.. Any ideas or what you do greatly appreciated.

5 of us on the water by 9.30 today Ian ,and Douglas , Stuart and Hamish and I am on my own today . Water clear as a bell clatity 15 feet plus ,water level is 4 feet down . Cloudy and overcast and a temp of 16C with little to no wind from the east . I see a fish caught just out from the boats to the right of the harbour so I work that side up to the break water a couple of times before heading up the loch I take a drift to the bridge halfway up I am on a Daddie with a washing line and take... Hi All I`m looking for some replacement foam to re-do some fly boxes , does anyone know where I might find a supplier please ? a few years back I bought a couple of A4 size sheets of white closed cell foam which had the sticky back and all you needed to do was cut to size ,peel off the backing , and stick onto any box, great stuff but I can`t for the life of me remember where I bought this from .. Yup what wellie. Aigles lasted for 10 years then switched to Chameau but have only gotten 6 out of them. Any suggestions no neoprene lined.
