Help Struggling to reduce my medical bag size as full of pump spares. Solo traveller. Still to fit in 8 x 10 ml insulin vials, 10 penfill cartridges and 10 disposable pens. Best cooling hacks please to protect my supplies from high humidity and heat, both on the 24 hr journey out and on various other several day long trips to other places. Plus quite an active holiday Google has confused me after advice to spend £100s on USB fridges that are too expensive and unwieldy for just me. Can I get... Read more

Have had a "cold" since middle of last week. Colleague who has a compromised immune system and regularly checks for covid had positive result so thought should take a test Anyhoo, got positive test on Friday, but still felt ok albeit with heavy cold symptoms and sore throat and opted to work from home. Been keeping close eye on BG and ketones over weekend (all ok though ketones were slightly raised to 0.5 but now dropped to 0.2) but felt generally ok till yesterday when felt rally nauseous... Hi I’ve noticed this past month or so although my phone is geccise me or on a dresser charging near by bed. It keeps dropping signal and my family have mentioned it too as they are connected onto my account. Is there anything I can do or is anyone else having similar problems. I’m an iPhone user.
Happy birthday to long-time member @Charl and relative newcomer @PamS88 Hope you have had a lovely day
Research published in Diabetologia further suggests that T1 diabetes may actually be 2 completely different conditions with different causes of beta cell destruction Genetic association stratified by HLA-DR3 and HLA-DR4 status reveals heterogeneity in pathways of progression to type 1 diabetes - Diabetologia Aims/hypothesis There are substantial differences in the clinical presentation of type 1 diabetes depending on the first-developing autoantibody, although the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. The DR3-DQ2 (DR3) and DR4-DQ8 (DR4) haplotypes at the MHC locus associate with GADA and IAA... link.springer.com
What food helps you the most? I came back from church on my mobility scooter approx 7 miles , so I’d done a 14 mile round trip but my old jalopy scooter was not climbing hills easily. I had to used my feet to jog it along. So I started to get hangry when back indoors and well nothing seems to fill me. Yes I was good this time but I know another time I’d be picking whatever my hands could get hold off. Suggestions please.
I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can share all the positive things we have enjoyed, things that made us feel happy or little achievements. If we already have one of these threads, please let me know! Here are mine for the last few days: I managed to go to the gym without a hypo I did squats without falling over / injuring myself! The primroses in my garden and at work are looking beautiful. Anyone else?
My desert garden... Lush it ain't. Also, wanted to see how to attach a picture, did it... hooray. I won't bore you with any other pictures of the sad, forlorn back garden. Now to post it and if that works ok, to award myself a few gold stars. Here goes.
Hi all, I am a T2 diabetic and have been for at least 31 years, and have started using the Libre 2 system only this year to manage my diabetes after, frankly years of ignoring managing my sugars, for several reasons. To say this move has been life-altering is probably understating it - is it the same for others having started using CGM for the first time? Anyway, happy Sunday morning (here at least!).
Hi. I was diagnosed at 36 as type 1 diabetic and it has been a major change to my life. Have struggled a bit and got burned out over it but trying to get back on track. It’s hard dealing with difficult situations in life when not type 1 diabetic but with it just feels so much worse.
Hi, is there other foods out there that lasts as long as porridge that anyone knows please . Thanks
