I have had audiograms by a professional audiologist in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2026. In 2023, I got my first aids, Oticon Real 1. This week, after the 2026 audiogram, they adjusted my aids. My audiologist added 10dB in the bass and 5dB in the treble. I looked at the four audiograms and noticed that everything was in increments of 5dB. Isn't that very coarse resolution? I also compared the four audiograms, and didn't see much difference at all in the bass and just a bit of difference over time in treble. To my eye, variations from year to year could be in part measurement error. The audiogram has points for air & bone conduction, which were quite similar, and one test of masking at 2kHz. I'm not sure why the audiologist thought I needed 10dB more bass. Now, one day later, I'm trying to adapt to the new program and finding the extra treble annoying. I assume that I'll get used to it. Is a 5dB gain step a lot or is that considered subtle? Here's a bit of data pulled from the various audiograms: If the testing uses 5dB increments, can we really trust a 5dB difference from year to year? Is this all subjective or is there really a correct aid profile to match each audiogram? What are your thoughts? I am experimenting with NAL-NL3 after having been a user and fan of Adaptive Phonak Digital for about 5 years. I wear Phonak Infinio 90-Sphere with cshells. I never liked the quality of singing voices when streaming music, or voices on televisions when using NAL-NL2 The screen shots are (top 2) Calm Situation (algorithm in lower left) and (bottom 2) Spheric Speech in Loud Noise). Each algorithm was fitted with SoundRecover2 OFF and Semi-Linear Compression. My initial impressions of NAL-NL3; *When I stepped outside I thought the crickets and cicadas were on steroids. *My footsteps on hardwood floor sound louder *Speech from TV, social media videos do sound crisper. Brass instruments during music playback sound crisper. * I could hear the crackle of a neighbors backyard fire as he burned yard waste 130 ft away. Where I still struggle: *Retail point of sale where background is not high enough to activate Speech in Noise or Spheric Speech in Loud Noise *Elevators *Doctors exam room with doctor 12 feet away. *I don't seem to hear traffic in a parking lot as well with NAL-NL3 compared to A.P.D. *The Phonak startup jingle when I put the aids in at the start of the day is very low. NAL-NL3 is supposed to have some built in module called "Comfort in Noise". I couldn't find an explanation in layman's terms as to how this activates or enhances the users experience. Hi everyone, I’m looking for an older version of Sonic EXPRESSfit Pro , preferably 2020.1 . If anyone also has 2019.2 , that would be very helpful as well. I own a pair of older Sonic Enchant 20 miniRITE (ET20) hearing aids and I’m doing some personal research on their fitting/firmware support. The newer EXPRESSfit Pro versions still support fitting these devices, but some of the older firmware-related components and update paths appear to have changed over time, so I’d like to compare the older software versions. I’ve already posted my audiogram. Currently, I’m using an M receiver, as recommended by the Target app, but I’m not satisfied with the output. During my trial, I used a P receiver and was very satisfied with the hearing aid’s performance. With the M receiver, I’m not getting the same output. Based on my audiogram, would it be safe and appropriate to switch to a P receiver?
