Irresponsible Owners

Hi, first post here! I was wondering if anyone else has noticed an increase in irresponsible dog owners? Some of our walks have become a bit stressful recently due to people letting their dogs charge over from quite a distance. My smaller dog can be nervous since he was attacked last year and this of course doesn’t help. My setter is now 12 and has arthritis so a dog charging over and jumping about near her could do some damage. I have no problem with dogs being off the lead if they come... Read more

Horse search on hold

So think the horse search is paused maybe indefinitely. I keep my old boy ticking over he’s 25 but having had a bad experience a few months ago losing nearly 1k - vetting is sunk cost admittedly - and seeing people just buy from photos and videos which I’m not prepared to do, and youngsters up for 12k I think I need to find a new hobby! I’ve spent most of the summer on my bike so might upgrade that next year. I’m starting to think after a summer of bare paddocks keeping two might be... Read more

Chest fit on Hy StormX/DefenseX Rugs

Does anyone know what the fit is like on these rugs please? For very narrow shoulders where most rugs don't do up tight enough! Amigos and other rugs with a surcingle/T-Bar fronts usually fit well but I've seen one of these that I like the look of. Thank you.

Dealing with nerves getting back on after a big surgery?

4.5/almost 5 months ago I had urgent surgery to create a stoma due to my health situation getting pretty dire. I was too unwell to ride or even be around my ponies so it did have to happen and tbh I feel so much better for it, it’s so nice not waking up feeling very unwell every day. It’s been a very rough recovery with more teething problems than I anticipated but once I was comfortable to sit up on my own and start getting my steps in I was up at the yard just saying hello to my ponies... Which site is best for advertising horse for sale?

I'm about to advertise my 3-year-old Connemara x WB for sale (15hh). I doubt that I'll get much interest at this time of year, but before I send her away for a few weeks with a professional to start her gently, then turn away for the winter, I thought I'd see if there is anyone out there who might be interested in a blank canvas to produce for themselves. I don't really want to use FB groups as I'm not convinced you get serious buyers from there. I was thinking of putting the advert on... Read more

Is PTS right?

Looking for advise. My 26 year old mare has a grade 6 heart murmur and a tumour on her neck. The vet has advised pts, because there’s nothing can be done. They wont sedate to look at tumour at her age and with that heart murmur. I’ve had her for 20 years and I am devastated. I booked pts for two weeks time , but she is still running around her field like a maniac and seems happier than she ever been. Am I making the right choice? She been retired for 10+ years because of other health... Read more
