Just spotted this article in the Memphis Commercial Appeal. Whilst most of it we are likely to have read before, there is some thoughts in the summary below about the music and possible release date. Many are anticipating the end of this year, but like the article, I am inclined to go with 2027 around the 50th Anniversary of Elvis’ death because that will defintely be the best time to get maximum exposure with other things happening. Baz Luhrmann is creating a new Elvis film titled... Elvis Presley - EPiC as Envisaged by Baz Luhrmann??

On this thread, starting today, I’m going to start holding up songs by The Beach Boys and the three Wilson Brothers — Brian, Dennis and Carl. Previously there was a song-by-song thread on The Beach Boys (here) however, a few participants on this thread here ... A Cork on the Ocean: Beach Boys and Wilson Brothers song-by-song
I saw this post of pet peeves from indie record shop owners (on Instagram or one of those) "Know what I hate? When the buy sends me a note tellin' me how to pack a record. I have been packing records for forty years." Yet they still arrive with seam splits. I hate asking an indie shop operating on thin margins to make it right because I staunchly support indie record stores. What kind of donkey would feel OK about paying pull price for a new record, especially an exclusive, somewhat... I am up to 9 out of every 10 records arriving with seam splits
The 1995 reissue is expanded and has what I'm assuming is the entire setlist of 29 tracks. https://www.discogs.com/release/3342826-The-Ventures-Live-In-Japan-65 The 2004 Japan reissue has the original album track list, but in both stereo and mono mixes. https://www.discogs.com/release/9509241-The-Ventures-Ventures-In-Japan Ron Furmanek worked on the first disc, but any ideas as to who did the 2004? The 2004 disc from soundbites definitely sounds a bit more... The Ventures Live In Japan 1965 - 1995 Versus 2004 Reissues
Happy 79th birthday to the legendary guitarist. I've been listening to Derek and the Dominos' Live at the Fillmore all day long to celebrate Clapton's birthday. Other than that, let's use this thread to discuss anything related to Clapton. Thanks.
There's no way this can work. Longtime Miami serial killer Dexter Morgan got away with eight seasons the last time, then a "soft reboot" with Dexter: New Blood (with his son) and this year with Dexter: Original Sin about his beginnings in the early 1990s. Now, they're telling us that Dexter Morgan is still alive and well and back to work in 2025: I think everybody in the show is looking a little ragged, but by god, quite a few of them are... Dexter: Resurrection (2025 Showtime series)
- On to new horizons! We made to 2019 gang. This thread much like it's predecessor will be a clearing house for all Tom Petty/Heartbreakers news in 2019 . I will try to update it as frequently as possible, but as this is a one man shop, I do indulge your patience... Tom Petty/Heartbreakers: 2019 -& onwards Thread *
The Kinks were a fairly early favourite of mine, although I discovered them a long time after most people here probably did. I would have been familiar with You Really Got Me, Lola and a couple of other songs, from listening to the radio as a kid, and one day I went into my local record store, Atlas Records, near the old Boans building in Morley, Western Australia, where I spent countless hours as a young pup, and I asked them what would be the best Kinks album to get as a starter. I was... The Kinks - Album by Album (song by song)
I know there's a very popular thread already about what the last movie you saw was, but 99% of that seems to be watching on television. I'm more interested in what was the last film you saw in the theater. All that counts on this one is films you actually saw in a movie theater. And can we please not have a discussion about why you haven't gone to the theater in years? I saw two films in the theater today. The first was The Sisters Brothers , a very unusual Western... The last movie you saw in the theater
This is another one of those standalone "special edition" magazine publications, as issued by the people behind Uncut. A list of 200 films, voted for by a panel of only five people. Panel: Kim Newman, critic, author and broadcaster Paul O’Callaghan, film writer Anton Bitel, freelance film critic Philip Concannon, film writer Katherine McLaughlin, features editor for SciFi Now and editor of the issue I previously posted their 1970s list, which prompted some discussion here. In the usual... The 200 Greatest Films of the 1990s... ranked! (magazine poll)

Hey, I don't care what Mann does, I still love the first one so much, I'm in that theater seat I realize info on the film is sparse, but the little I read today regarding casting seems very impressive.... to me. Way too early for a thread? Probably
