I was just having a conversation and we were talking about apprentices. I just hired a new one (he starts in a few weeks) and I was talking about how hard it was to find someone who wasn't a 35-40 year old who was 'rediscovering themself' and wanted to be a first-year millwright apprentice. It was crazy difficult to find a young guy who wanted to work. During the conversation I mentioned what I consider to be the responsibilities of an apprentice, and in addition to showing up on-time and... Apprentice responsibilities

For me, it was probably my Ram Promaster cargo van because of the freedom it gives me to live the life I choose. What about you? What's the best money you ever spent?
This one came from a tech I work with, and I thought it was worth sharing. Restaurant walk-in cooler. Losing refrigerant slowly — maybe every 4–6 weeks it would stop holding temp. Two different techs had been out. Both used electronic detectors, soap bubbles, and checked the usual suspects: Schrader valves, fittings, brazed joints. Nothing. The system held pressure for a day or two, then slowly dropped. Third visit, the tech decided to try UV dye. He injected it, let the system run... What Finally Worked
Was there a moment it just smacked you in the face that you're not a kid anymore? An actual 'oh no' moment? Or are you one of those lucky ones who still feels 19 no matter what the calendar says? I'm still trying to figure out when it happened to me, so I want to hear yours. Spill it below, dramatic, dumb, or a slow creeping realization, doesn't matter. At what point did you start to feel 'old,' or have you?
Hello everyone. I’m looking into upgrading the battery setup for my trolling motor and keep seeing lithium batteries recommended. I currently use lead-acid batteries, but the weight and limited runtime have me considering switching to a lithium trolling motor battery. If you've made the switch, how much did you notice in runtime, weight, charging time, and overall performance? Are lithium batteries reliable enough for frequent fishing trips, and do they actually last long enough to... Is a Lithium Trolling Motor Battery Worth It for Regular Fishing?
One coat of tinted primer has been applied. I blocked all the joints and installed two studs in the middle, the pictures don’t show that. Used up some liquid nails I had opened to stick the drywall to the blocking and of course screws. Used a razor knife to bevel the drywall around the perimeter. I’m going to skim the entire wall, lightly sand with 180 grit then prime and apply two coats of paint. Light sanding in between coats... Drywall Repair
I used to dread the evenings. After a long day on site — covered in paint, dust, or plaster — I’d get home, scroll through dozens of photos on my phone, and spend 2+ hours turning them into a professional quote. So I built something to fix that. It’s called SnapSite . Here’s what it does: Take photos on site → AI analyses them and drafts a full scope of work, materials list, assumptions and line items. Record a voice note while walking the job → it transcribes and turns it into... No more time making quotes

The picture doesn’t show it but I put plenty of blocking completely around the perimeter and two 16” apart in the middle. I’ll skim coat the whole area before giving it one more coat of primer then two even coats of high quality paint. ... Drywall Repair
