I had an interesting morning. While walking the dogs, I bumped into a chap from the village I vaguely know—mainly from chatting about his beautifully restored TR4. Today’s conversation somehow veered into trains (don’t ask me how), and it turns out he’s a full-blown steam anorak. Travels all over to see engines. I mentioned our model railway, and he lit up—said he’s got a few Hornby locos, some new, some second-hand, but he’s never run them because he doesn’t have a layout. So I invited him... An Interesting Morning .
Just bagged a train set for £65.69 including postage off ebay Hornby R1000 mixed traffic, might still be some left if you are quick and fancy one[struggling to copy URL from there over to here, so search from the description]
Somewhere for members to share things that they think other members might find amusing that are not rail connected (having been 'shooed-off' railway jokes)

Hi friends any suggestions for powering this layout please it's for my grandson I havent a clue some sort of diagrams would be great thanks
Next project, a little more involved than the 0-4-0s I've been building up until now. This will use another Hornby 0-4-0 chassis, cut down and then with a front bogie added. From Google: "GWR No. 13 was an experimental steam locomotive designed by William Dean for the Great Western Railway. Built at Swindon Works in 1886, it started as a 2-4-2 well tank engine before being rebuilt in 1897 as a 4-4-0 saddle tank engine. It served on various branch lines before withdrawal at Swindon in 1926... GWR Dean no.13 4-4-0 Locomotive 3D Print Project
Hi All, Well here goes my first post on my WIP Loft OO guage model railway. Having been away from the hobby for longer than I would care to mention, but its well into double figures, I decided a year or two ago, to sort out the loft & try to find all the boxes which have not seen the light of day since we moved to West Sussex over 13 years ago, & have another go at a hobby which I have loved since childhood in the 60's. Well that took care of most of the 1st year ! Sorting the loft... Norm's Loft Layout

Hello Happy Members ! As always I have a new (crazy ?) idea: building an H0/00 outdoor layout. A long time ago, I looked at a forum dedicated to 00 gauge garden railways. Back then, building a 00 gauge garden railway seemed extremely complicated (weather, rust, cats, birds...). Now, it seems much simpler. Fortunately, a long time ago, I bought a lot of Märklin My World plastic track (very cheap). My layout will run along an outside garden wall. All your comments, advices and criticisms... I posted this already in other forums, and then I thought that it should be interesting to an UK audience. I have reproduced the Rocket in its original form. Here is where I am at the moment. Now I will have to turn in brass the tender tires so that I can use the tender as power pickup. I'll post the result when I'm done.
You know there are times when you take photographs just to remember a time or place? Here are some of mine. Z Gauge? No, all 1-1 seen in Southampton Docks Our older granddaughter brought a small part of her trains for me to see. She likes U.S. model railroading. My good Lady and I love being at sea.
