Range Rover goes electric: £154k, 372 miles of range and 2885kg

JLR has launched the first electric Range Rover , with the promise that the brand's crucial debut EV will "look, feel and drive like a Range Rover ". The new Range Rover Electric - due next year, priced from £154,070 - is a dual-motor EV based on the current Range Rover's mixed-metal Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex), with a... Stellantis Threatening UK pull out

I know it’s not the first time but what do you think about this and any ideas for a solution? https://amp.theguardian.com/business/article/2024/jun/25/vauxhall-owner-car-plants-shut-uk-stellantis-ellesmere-port-luton I’ve got to admit I have a lot of sympathy for them. They have spent a lot of money committing to electrification and the U.K. government keeps moving the goal posts around. Now they are going to be fined for not hitting sales quotas that are probably... Stellantis Threatening UK pull out

Anyone else had a good experience with Autodoc delivery?

I needed a set of cabin filters and wiper blades for my 2021 Kia e-Niro and decided to try Autodoc after seeing them mentioned here. Wasn't expecting much from the delivery, to be honest, but everything arrived together, well packed and actually a day earlier than the estimated date. The parts matched the numbers I checked and there were no issues at all. Has anyone else used Autodoc recently? I'm mainly interested in your experience with delivery times for larger EV parts, as I might need... Anyone else had a good experience with Autodoc delivery?

Zoe brake bleed without Renault Dealer help?

I dropped my Zoe off to the local garage for some pre-MOT work, which ended up including a change of one of the rear wheel cylinders. After swapping the part and bleeding the brakes they have reported that the car started throwing an error about the brakes no longer being linked (unsure of exact wording), which they believe is to do with needing to actuate the ABS pump using special Renault software. The ABS is now actuating constantly so the car is undrivable and stuck at the garage with no... Zoe brake bleed without Renault Dealer help?

Admiral Insurance and ZoomEV

So I had to renew the insurance on one of our EVs - shopped around, as you do, and settled on a policy with Admiral which seemed like a good deal. A (minor, admittedly) part of the package was a "free" subscription to "ZoomEV" for the year which allegedly gives a few minor benefits on charging, parking, etc. My problem is that, even though I am now 6 weeks into my policy, I can't extract anything from Admiral that corresponds to this offer. I've sat through phone hell twice now, both times... Admiral Insurance and ZoomEV

Ohme Pro - Replace Tethered Cable

Contacted Ohme and they want £300 to replace the cable. It appears to be a sealed unit, but there must be a way to open it up and change the tethered cable, as Ohme offer to do this. Anybody achieved this?

Used EV Bargains!

There's already a very useful thread for Cheap Deals, but I thought a thread that highlights used bargains specifically might be useful too. Good value cash deals on old classics out of warranty, or deals on finance that highlight the useful price depreciation (or price correction) on some nearly-new EVs compared to list price. Occasionally private sales can bring some intersting deals, like this one (now sold..):

Net zero by 2050 'impossible' for UK, says Badenoch

Should I keep my Polestar 2?

I've had a Polestar 2 Standard Range Single Motor for the last 6 months. Purchased outright for £11,995, which is a lot of car for the money! An unfortunate incident happened in early June when the car was driven into by another driver. Details were exchanged and their insurance promptly settled in my favour. They saw fit to rent me an Audi A6 etron as an intervention hire. Wasn't going to complain too loudly. The car's had the whole front end done up which actually looks rather good... Argos becomes first UK retailer to sell plug-in solar panels

You can now legally buy and install plug-in solar panels in British homes as part of the government’s plans to help reduce electricity costs. Unlike roof arrays, which are expensive and require professional installation, these new compliant kits are plug-and-play systems that come complete and are designed to be easily fitted. Simply unpack the kit, mount the solar panel (up to 2,000W) on a ground-mounting system or suitable fixing, position the small microinverter box near an AC wall... Octopus Charge Stream?

Anyone noticed this new tweak to their app. You seem to get stars for each continuous day you have plugged in. It might be the replacement to greener nights?

Non Tesla charging at supercharger

Just a comment of my experience. Although situated in a car park I was extremely impressed with the time and cost of charging my Vauxhall Grandland at a Supercharger. we were in Carmarthen and in need of a top up and parking in the shopping centre noticed a bank of superchargers. Quickly registered the Tesla app whilst in the space. Very easy. plugged the car in and charged 37kw in just over 40 mins. Even more surprising was the unit cost at £0.64. Made me wonder why there were 2 cars... Non Tesla charging at supercharger
