AfD getting stronger

ShirleyNot: The spectre of Islam, vilified, morphed and amplified by the far right, ironically shares more similarities with them than they are probably comfortable with. Highly conservative and authoritarian leaders against women’s rights, LGBTQ and religious pluralism could apply to both parties. That’s not analysis, just lazy pattern recognition. Yes, both can be socially conservative. But Islamism is a violent religious-political ideology; the far right is typically nationalist and nativist Which makes for the left and others such as “Gays for Palestine” somewhat awkward when solidarity slides into uncritical support for extreme Islamist politics. Supporting Palli civilians is one thing; pretending that Islamist ideology is compatible with liberal LGBTQ values is quite another. Authoritarian movements agreeing on certain issues doesn’t make them twins. It just means authoritarians occasionally agree.

It is hilarious how some members here think there is no well defined German culture and expect the natives to accept a foreign, non-compatible culture influence while at the same time they see no problem with that same culture has absolutely no desire to accept, integrate with the cultural values of the country that for some reason they chose for a new home.

AI and Science Fiction

We really are lemmings… CNBC – 9 Sep 26 Anthropic researcher says AI has more than 10% chance of 'killing all humans'... An Anthropic safety researcher said there is a greater than 10% chance AI could "kill all humans" after a former colleague quits over safety concerns.

Axa: Current asylum laws are not lax. Well, I disagree. I think it’s a joke, rife with abuse and no longer fit for purpose. Which is essentially why the EU has been trying to overhaul the system. That being said, you know what they say - never interrupt an enemy when he is making a mistake.

Simply stock trading

BKNG, someone? “forecast” FV should be around 170 USD. Same play as EXPE(dia) - swing back into the top of the green area.

Websites making it difficult for you to pay them

Phil_MCR: Maybe it is my Cembra credit card, but it seems whenever I buy stuff online, it sends me an SMS code that I have to type into the website. The SMS is done by the bank - but it’s considered an older and more insecure way of doing things. Nowadays, it’s suggested to use a MFA app instead. Heck, even a whatsapp message is (marginally) more secure than a SMS.

hanzo: “and add stricter asylum and immigration rules and focus on a remigration program” à la AfD Current asylum laws are not lax. The issue is that 10 years ago Merkel had the idea of suspending the asylum laws for a while. I don’t remember exactly when, but there was a terrorist in Germany that attacked while having a pending expulsion order. The laws are not lax, the issue is that laws are useless if no one acts on them.

Axa: So, there’s work to do. Block foreign funding for missionary work in Europe, keep extremists under surveillance and defend the secular state. “and add stricter asylum and immigration rules and focus on a remigration program” à la AfD

Against the background of the escalating conflict in the Middle East, our new factsheet provides initial insights into findings from a study on anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim attitudes in Germany. 52 percent of the population perceives Islam to be “very” or “rather” threatening.

Flakk: And as for German culture in this respect - ever heard of KKK? Kinder, Kirche, Küche. All the AfD think women are good for (excepting their own leadership of course). The spectre of Islam, vilified, morphed and amplified by the far right, ironically shares more similarities with them than they are probably comfortable with. Highly conservative and authoritarian leaders against women’s rights, LGBTQ and religious pluralism could apply to both parties.
