Getting into hot water....

A simple question - what is the easiest, fastest, small non-electric way to get hot water for a cup of tea, cup of noodles, etc? I use a 2 burner butane stove for cooking but I keep that in the back, in my camper. I want a small something that I can keep in the console of my truck. Note: looking for brand names and model numbers

Squash Soup - cold soup version

For those of you who like cold soups in summer... and squash soup... I came up with a quickie recipe that does not require cooking. Squash Soup - cold version In the very bowl that you'll be eating from, add 1 tsp Better Than Bouillion, chicken or vegetable (or whatever equivalent broth you prefer) 1/2 c Canned Pumpkin 1/4 c Powdered WHOLE milk (I use Nido) - you could probably use nonfat milk, but I haven't tried it fold and mix that all together, then add 1/2 c water, slowly Black... What are you reading?

I love reading threads because they allow me to add to my wanted list. I don't remember where I saw this book mentioned but I ordered it from our library. They didn't have it in any of the branches so they ordered it from the interlibrary loan system and it came to me in North Central WA all the way from Emporia, KS! The Stopping Places: A Journey Through Gypsy Britain by Damian Le Bas I only just started it right before I took a much needed nap late this afternoon but it caught my... Read more

24/7 Chat About Anything

Chat about anything - so long as the moderators/admin haven't already ruled it off topic, like politics. [Check with the forum rules when in doubt about what can be posted here.] The intention here is to stay in touch with other vandwellers in a friendly manner. I'm not asking for debate issues.

INTJohn’s Yooper Land Expedition

14 August, ‘26 In a week/10 days or so I’ll be heading north to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula for a 2ish week long kamping recon expedition along the Lake Superior shore. While there are no seashells along Lake Superior’s shoreline there are plenty of amazing rocks! (see above pik!) and other geological finds. I’ll be searching for agates, yooperlites and any other interesting rocks I might stumble into. Yooperlites: ... Read more

Looking for a Bob Wells video of a sink setup

In the Video the guy built his counter setup out of wire metal shelving like the kind pictured below; and the sink swung out on a partial shelf. I believe it was recessed in the shelf.
