The bike Sat since the May Ozark rally. I think it got one short ride to top up the tank all. With a little over an hour of daylight remaining yesterday, I decided to get out on it for a bit. I found it a bit difficult to start. I had to kick it to life. It was cranking but no light off. I drove about four miles just fine. It stopped running at 40 mph on level ground. No restart no spark. I called my wife and she brought a spare TCI and jumper cable. The jump got it going. Car... Read more

Hello ! I have a 1978 that's non running. It was running but had an incurable flat spot in the mid range. One day it wouldn't start at all, and I couldn't get it running. Then I found someone selling another bike without a title with a relatively fresh rebuild on the engine for a good price, so I figured I'd buy that and swap the engine while I had the chance. I picked that bike up and got it running on day one, it was idling strong and I thought, perfect it runs, now all I have to do it... Read more

hey all! I got my wheels powder coated and also new brake shoes for the rear wheel. When installed and spinning the wheel, I hear a clicking noise. It's def coming from the brake drum. I THINK its the blue circled parts of the drum hitting the red circled part of the hub. Anyone ever encounter this? recommended solutions? Brakes are from Mike's Thanks in advance!

I'm hanging out my shingle.... Band of Brothers Rewinding Service is open for business (thanks Bob ) You can read here all the work that went into getting to this point. Send me your rotor. If it's a serviceable core, I'll rewind it with TEMCo MW0181 22 ga. wire. Run-out will be tested before and after rewind and the rotor will be static re-balanced. It's reassembled with new stainless screws, or brass, loctited in. The coil is epoxied in place with hi-temp JB Weld... Read more

Since I had a need for these, I made several. This harness will allow you to run a Suzuki GN250 TCI on your 1980 through 1983 XS650. The GN250 box will directly replace the Yamaha XS650 TCI. The TCI box IS NOT INCLUDED. You can buy one here: CDI Ignitor Box Digital Ignition Fit for Suzuki GN250 Motorcycle The harness is about ten inches long and the wire colors match the XS650 wiring diagram. The TCI side is a Yazaki locking connector. The motorcycle side is a... Read more
