Audio Fake Detector PRO is a a tool developed by me, designed to identify audio files passed off as "high quality" (lossless or high bitrate) but which actually come from compressed and lossy sources, such as MP3 Audio Fake Detector PRO Detects audio sourced from low-bitrate material (e.g. 128–160 kbps MP3s) that has been transcoded or upscaled to fake high-bitrate or lossless formats. https://github.com/alessandrocomito/audiofakedetectorpro/ www.audiosciencereview.com

I picked up this Apos Druid DAC on a whim for my headphone setup. $160 for a modern R2R DAC that sounds better than it has any right to. Is it a giant killer? I don’t think so. That’s an overused trope anyway. Is it worth $160? Yes, definitely. It sounds surprisingly good. It has a lively and vibrant character that improves with time. The ‘science fair’ look and lack of a true case will be offputting to many. Anybody who has built anything audio knows most of the product cost is in the... Read more

Hello everyone, I'm completely new to this type of gear and these kind of forums. (so please forgive any rookie mistakes). I read a short bio on Cerwin-Vega how the designer wanted to make a speaker that had the dynamics and impact of live music. So they used large woofers and were efficient. He also wanted them to be a good value so they typically weren't that expensive. He wanted to move air and fill the room like live music. This didn't make me want to run out and get a pair. I know what the end result was. It did sort of give me an understanding why and it did make a difference for me, knowing why... Read more
In this system cables really don't matter.....
I’ve read some threads regarding the efficacy of network switches and filters recently with interest, since after finding myself having to split my system apart, the system at my (small) primary residence will be going digital only due to space considerations. Having somewhat of a technical background, I’d like to have some idea of what’s going on in my setup when I contemplate such a change as this, even if I’m not completely clear on how these devices achieve that end. It appears to me... Read more
