Author: julian67 Subject: Advice: '88 T3 Posted: 27 Jun 26 at 16:24 Many thanks. After 2 years, it started up without any problems even on the same battery which I had disconnected. The only thing I don't like is the battery is behind the seat and not easy to remove or, disconnect the terminals. Pity they didn't have the side drop down which would make it a lot easier to slide out & change.
Author: julian67 Subject: Advice: '87 VW 2.1 motor Posted: 27 Jun 26 at 07:29 Mileage: 210.000 kms Motor: 2.1 History unknown: Questions: Should I change the cambelt? Cambelt type / part no? Engine no location? What service parts should I get? Engine oil type? Coolant type + amount? Engine runs great but keen to avoid any problems? Many thanks Edited by julian67 - 27 Jun 26 at 07:31

Author: shapey Subject: dilema - keep the steels or fit the alloys? Posted: 28 May 26 at 14:45 hey up brickies! my bus has been laid up for about 5 yrs, but just got it MOT'd and will hopefully be back on the road soon! the only major fail after 5 yrs was the front shocks so have fitted a set of bilsteins courtesy of mr baxter, and some electrical gremlins which have hopefully been sorted with help from my dad who is an electrical wizard! need to get new tyres and i'm going to get the wheels powdercoated while i'm at it. i took the steels off and fitted the alloys for it to sit on while i get it all sorted so thought i'd say hello and post up a quick pic!

Author: dugcati Subject: Advice: '88 T3 Posted: 15 Apr 26 at 06:59 It'll rattle well on startup as the hydro lifters will be well drained. Otherwise it'll be fine. Get fresh fuel in the tank ASAP, You could drain it all and strip/inspect the carb I guess. Brakes will be a bit sticky too most likely!
