1983 TVR Tasmin 280i Very good condition. Good frame (rust free) and body. Runs well and drives well. Engine is a 2.8 liter Ford V6. Interior redone and in excellent condition. Car is unique on it's own, but top design allows for operation as a targa or convertible. You will not see another one of these in your travels. $8,800.00 OBO Contact me here or at yellow749s@yahoo.com Thank you for looking
Have decided to start a frame up restoration project. Have a Mk III on my radar so wish me luck! Randall
What's the trick to squeeze the play out of urethane bushes? I've loosened the mounting, cranked the wheel over and had someone hold it to compress the bushing, clamped the front and back of the U-shaped housing against the rack to further compress the bushing, then tightened the nuts. After doing both sides, there's still a little play in the rack when turning the wheel side to side, on the order of 1/8". I'm thinking that's going to be unpleasant steering and would like to squeeze that... Read more
The alternator is a British Wiring unit and has been working well for several years. Lately the red ignition light has started to flicker and now is staying on.Recently when I drove the car it has been stalling out at stop signs and low idle which leads me to believe I am running on the battery only? I am using a voltmeter gauge that used to give readings in the 13 to 14 volt range when running but now shows just above 11 volts. However when testing the battery with a multimeter I get 12... Thought these photos from a few different eras might interest. Got them from another place I hang. There, "photos of days gone by" is quite a popular posting theme.
Hello All, _At highway speeds my amp meter reads a charge of +3 amps but when I turn the head lights on I get a steading reading of about -5 amps. Is there a way I can increase the amp output? The fan belt is tight. Thanks for any input, TR3MT
Well I found out why my Ignition warning light wasn't working. Last time I was back behind the gauge cluster I had run a white wire from the ignition switch to the voltmeter but forgot to run a white wire to the warning light. Doh! Can I now just run an additional white wire from the IGN switch to the warning light and leave the voltmeter hooked up the way it is? The other terminal on the voltmeter gauge is attached to ground?
In a rarity for IndyCar racers of the era, two time Indy 500 winner Gordon Johncock died at home on September 28. When he started racing in the USAC champ car circuit in 1964, many of the drivers did not survive their careers. I got to meet Gordon a number of times when I was working the pits at Pocono Raceway in the mid 70s, and he was always gracious, and did not show any resentment to the intrusions by this young photographer. He was a good guy. This is a photo I took of Johncock in... Read more
Hi there everybody! I am located in Virginia and just got myself a project MG that will also serve as my first car. I am excited to work on the car with my dad. It's a 1973 MGB Roadster and I joined BCF to learn about the car and some tips on fixing it. Here's a pic:
