I have a couple of questions. I have an old Protimeter Surveymaster that I paid over $500 for 24 years ago. I have long probes for it so I was able to survey the sole without penetration as well as drill test holes and verify what my survey readings meant. I mapped out where the sole is wet as pictured. Outside the outer survey line is where moisture readings dip below 20% and inside the inner line is where they climb above 30%. The screw holes were previously half-ass... Read more

For anyone who may be interested or has time to kill over the gloomy winter, there is a YT channel that got pushed to me by the algorithm. If you're interested in boat restoration, check out "The Duracell Project" on YT. Builder is local (Port Townsend) and is restoring a 1980s racing sailboat, known as "DURACELL", into a comfortable cruising sailboat. Total gut job and build that he started in 2021. The boat was built and sailed by legendary American sailor, Mike Plant. Plant sailed and... Read more

I am researching narrow, long, flexible solar panels that would fit on the side brow of a CD25. The available real estate is about 12”-15” x 60”. I have seen some that seem to fit on a Tomcat and also on a 25. Any thoughts on a source? Thanks, Ken

Hello C-Brats! My wife and I have been looking for a CD 25 for sometime and seem to miss out by a day here or a day there. something clean and ideally on the west coast but we can travel for the right boat at the right price. let me know if you have one or know of any
We sold our CD 22’ the Lochsa this spring and recently purchased a 2006 CD 25. It has twin 2017 Mercury 130 hp motors with dedicated batteries for each engine. What is the conventional wisdom on two start batteries plus house battery(s), vs one start battery plus house battery(s)? It currently has some house loads on the start batteries that I intend to move over to the house.
Hello everyone. My name is Ryan, and I got deeply involved in researching internal outboard corrosion after buying a boat that had suffered a serious corrosion failure. That research eventually led me to develop WaterDog Outboard Savers, so I want to be completely upfront that I own the company. I am not here to spam product links or turn every discussion into a sales pitch. I have spent the last couple of years studying outboard corrosion, cooling systems, thermostats, sacrificial... I trust the mechanic telling me this. He's got no incentive to steer me in this direction, since they don't sell engines at all. But we're looking at $3k easy to get the old 2004 Johnson (Suzuki) 90 running. With every expectation that we'll discover things along the way that need attention now, or in the very near future. For those of you who aren't familiar with Two Lucky Fish +1, she's a 2004 22 Cruiser. Gelcoat looking pretty rough, but as far as I'm aware the hull is solid. So... Read more
Hi everyone, In researching our next boat (currently have a Ranger Tug with inboard diesel engine), I’m highly interested in C-Dory’s 22C, 23V, 25C, 26V, Tomcat 255, and maybe the 29V. I’d really like to do a spatial "fit test" of each of these, to check the headroom, berth dimensions, and overall subjective feel of the cabin and helm. What I am looking for: A brief, 10-minute static walkthrough next time you visit your boat. What this is NOT: No sea trial or... Read more
This 2024 C-Dory 23 Venture Sport came to us with very light use and is in clean condition overall. It’s set up as a straightforward cruising and fishing boat and would be a good fit for someone looking for a near-new 23 without going through a full factory order. Powered by a Suzuki 150 with 72 hours. Simple, efficient setup and well within what most people run on these boats. The layout is the standard Venture configuration with the enclosed cabin, dinette, and V-berth. Good headroom... Read more
It used to be that you could edit a post for 30 minutes after posting it. Today I made a post and after 18 minutes (according to the site "posted 18 minutes ago") it would no longer let me edit that post.
