Driverless cars need driver?

VOLVO-V70: That is not a valid comparison for a Waymo or any driverless vehicle I said a non autonomous car is a fraction of what any autonomous costs. Autonomous does not mean electric or gas specifically. Either has to be refueled. You can buy 5 non auto cars for what one auto car costs. Someone said otherwise

Driverless cars need driver?

VOLVO-V70: No gas station trips, no oil changes needed Plus, brake pads that will likely not need to be replaced until 100k miles… or more.

FAQ/Guidelines

Nope, not there - this seems to be selective and mysterious… I don’t have any blockers running, so I’m finding this challenging to diagnose…

Advice on VIN checker

I’d look at a vehicle-history report as one piece of the decision, not the final answer on whether the car is good. I haven’t personally used EpicVIN enough to give you a fair opinion on their report quality, but regardless of which VIN service you use, I’d pay attention to more than just mileage. The biggest things I’d look for are: Salvage, rebuilt, flood, lemon, or other title brands Odometer inconsistencies or mileage that doesn’t make sense Accident or damage history, especially structural damage Number of owners and how frequently the car changed hands Where the car was previously registered — flood/salt-belt history can matter Lien or theft records, if the report includes them Open recalls Maintenance/service history, when available Also remember that a “clean” history report doesn’t necessarily mean a clean car. Not every accident, repair, or maintenance event gets reported. For a used car I was serious about buying, I’d combine the VIN/history check with the asking price compared with similar local cars and, most importantly, an independent pre-purchase inspection. The history report can tell you what has been recorded about the car. The inspection can tell you what condition the car is actually in today.

FAQ/Guidelines

I didn’t actually see a resolution of this, but I just joined and I don’t see any pencil icon or other ability to add a new topic. I’ve worked in tech for 40 years and I’m pretty sure I would recognize it if it were there. I don’t have any pop-up blockers or the like running. I’ve tried it on my laptop (screenshot attached) and my phone (also a no-go), so I do think that something is amiss… …and I just tried to copy and paste the screenshot (which it will do) but it will not allow me send a post containing “media”. Then I tried to attach the file (which it will do) but again, it will not allow me to send it. This is pretty discouraging…

Driverless cars need driver?

Cavell: A Chevy trax is $22k. Let me know when a new waymo is less then $22k That is not a valid comparison for a Waymo or any driverless vehicle. The deciding points will be if the Auto driving vehicle meets a persons needs at a price they can accept. No gas station trips, no oil changes needed and ease of recharging the vehicle. Some people will think of anything they can to make negative statements about driverless vehicles but it is going to happen. I actually hope it is in my future as I will probably be in in a semi-assisted living center someday and will not be driving myself to Doctor’s or medical facilities.

MikeInNH: Many of today’s EV vehicles can easily get over 300 miles on a charge. +1 Recently, a guy carefully drove his Audi A6 Etron across Poland, and although the mfr rates that model’s range as 483 miles, he was able to wring 831 miles from a single charge. Road & Track – 24 Sep 26 Audi A6 E-tron Goes 831 Miles on Public Roads on Single Charge, Sets Guinness... European Rally champion Miko Marczyk stretched the electric Audi far beyond its official 483-mile WLTP range. Lucid’s various models have battery ranges from a low of 420 miles to as high as 520 miles.
