I find it a little ironic that the service integration that makes ST devices available in Google is an API_ONLY app like those that have ST rattling the collection tin under our noses It is actually a USER level access one rather than the LOCATION level the oiks get. I feel confident in saying that Google have more money than me. I’d even go as far as saying more than twice as much. Mind you I am not complaining. We use Google Home, via Android, far more for smart home control than the SmartThings app. So don’t get any ideas, ST and Google.

Andrew_Bartlett: luckily I have a Starling Hub Note to other users. The Starling Hub is no longer available to purchase. The company still maintains the hub but who knows how long they can maintain their cloud services.
Andrew_Bartlett: The Google Nest Thermostat 3rd Gen we have is not supported via this route into HA If using the Google Nest linked service then it never will be shared with other outside platforms. Google Nest does not allow their devices to be shared from their SmartThings cloud-to-cloud integration.
Update – October 1, 2026 I’ve been running the driver for nearly four weeks now and so far it has been very stable. None of my fans have dropped off the Zigbee network, and I haven’t had to re-pair or reset any of them. I’ll continue running it and will post another update if I run into any issues, but so far the stability improvements appear to be working well.
Paul_Oliver: So, will things stop working tomorrow? My ST integration connection to Home Assistant is still working. For Now. The Google Nest Thermostat 3rd Gen we have is not supported via this route into HA, luckily I have a Starling Hub which integrates everything from Google Home (including Nest Thermostat, Speakers and Nest Protects) into Apple Home and there is a Home Assistant integration for Starling Hub so mostly everything is integrated into Home Assistant, twice, at the moment. If the HA ST integration stops working I will still have ST devices connected to Google Home, connected to Starling Hub, connected to Apple Home and Home Assistant. I have integrated all of my Matter, WiFi and Thread devices to HA. I would prefer to avoid migrating zigbee devices and I don’t have a zwave dongle for HA so will keep ST for those devices.
The UI really is an utter mess. The vague, once seen or ignored and never repeated, introductory blurb rather implies that we are supposed to be excited by being able to press the icons on tiles to run actions. We always could when they were smaller, except then the text seemed bigger, was certainly easier to read, and it was less frequently truncated so we didn’t have to guess what the tile was. It’s not as if the icons are anymore meaningful. People will still be inadvertently turning on their air quality sensor expecting the Christmas tree to light up however big and unnecessarily padded the icons are. In light mode the wallpapers are all incredibly washed out and they seem to be particularly fond of diluted sick as a colour scheme. Everything is so pale that a bold font becomes painful to look at. To be fair things look better in dark mode. However there isn’t a manual option for dark mode, it follows the system. Why do they still not carry the wallpapers through into things like device details? I haven’t investigated the wallpaper top left that is marked LIVE. I know it has an information button but it didn’t provide much enlightenment. I have had to reassign every single one of my wallpapers as the app remembered which of the nine squares I had selected for each thing and the designs had changed. Why can’t we just choose the wallpaper assigned to each of the squares instead?
Hi, @Willnguyen91 I changed the hub’s Zigbee channel as a last resort, after even having replaced the hub itself. Changing the Zigbee channel means having to reinstall most or all of the Zigbee devices. It’s been almost 10 days since I made the switch, and everything is working well so far. Here is a link to the final post about my channel change; you can read some of the earlier ones too if you’re interested in the process I went through with my issue. Hey all, my Zigbee devices have been intermittently going online and offline over the past few weeks, presumably because of the update. I did a power cycle of my hub and then each separate device and that seems to have mixed results. At times, all of them will go online again and some, or none, of them will. I’ve also tried removing the device and pairing it with my hub again with mixed results. Most of my Zigbee devices are SmartThings motion sensors and multipurpose door/window sensors as well as ThirdReality multipurpose door/window sensors. The SmartThings sensors seem to be doing better now, but I’m having difficulty with the ThirdReality sensors. Any ideas on what to do here? I haven’t looked into changing the Zigbee channel on my hub yet since I’m not too sure on what that exactly entails. Any guidance would be really appreciated!
Hi OB, thanks for explaining my iPhone’s 2 Device ID issue. I will log in to AWA using my wife’s account to check her phone’s status. Yes, I do have some routines that depend on my family member’s phone location, such as turning off the lights or arming the security system. I will check those settings in the next few days to see if my 2 iPhones’ locations are synced. Really appreciate your reply.
yeah, this is what i mean, but it looks not your issue. sorry for can’t help.
Thanks, jkp. It popped out this morning. It looks designed as a dynamic window.
How can I get the welcome code for my device? SN # 3000223335
