Last year we bought a new farm with a large stretch of windbreaks. These windbreaks get close to all of our outbuilding and our house. They have been extremely unmanaged. The cedar rows are around 10'-20 feet apart now and trees are 30+ feet tall. Lately with the extremely dry weather I have even thinking alot about fire. Infact a neighbor about 10 miles north lost his windbreak to a fire last night. I am going to electric fence off some areas and let my cows in there to clean up the... Read more

My daughter (16) and I finally aligned our schedules and drove out to our property for a daddy daughter hunt this weekend. I checked the spots I set up for her the day we arrived and found one blind partially destroyed. The only lasting damage was one obliterated hub blind pole. I made a note that it could likely be repaired if needed. The next morning I packed a roll of duct tape and a poplar sapling up the hill in the dark. We got in the blind and I made a quick repair. I started to open... Read more
The plot near the lake is obv Egyptian wheat surrounding winter wheat and cereal rye. One of the other plots is an old power line no longer being used. All the way at the end of the lane it dumps out to the lake. I could not get all thr back due to two creeks crossing the power line. The third plot is an intersection of the trail system. Fairly wide old old logging road. Both the power line and trail were waist to stomach height weeds. Now, could it have been some good deer forage, maybe... Read more

For many years I've used ESRI's ArcMap for managing my hunting property. I used it at work, so it had a very low learning curve for me. I found they offered a personal use license for $100 a year. This gave you access to all of their capabilities but was limited to personal use. This worked great for many years. I was able to connect to an MS Access database. I believe they used the Jet interface because when ArcGIS Pro came out you could no longer use MS Access as a personal DB. I... Read more
What is your go to for home security cameras? My Arlos are getting old and I think I want to add another option or replace altogether. My Arlo depends on me remembering to change batteries, AND wifi to be on. Are there options that use Solar charged batteries, and have Cellular backup when wifi is not available? Thanks

Has anyone made a flush toilet that was gravity flow from a water storage tank? My concern using a regular toilet is not enough pressure to activate float
Hello everyone. I’m setting up my UTV for deer season and looking for a good utv gun rack for carrying my rifle when traveling around the property. I’d like something that keeps the rifle secure and protected while driving over rough trails but is still easy to access when I get to my hunting spot. For those who use a UTV during deer season, do you prefer an overhead rack, bed-mounted rack, or another setup? How well has yours held up after a few seasons of hunting? I’d especially... Read more
