The P-TGC-001 choke I wound up using is a 4H, 50mA choke with 170 ohms of resistance. So I added a 500 ohm, 5 watt resistor in series. DummyLoad, What would the difference have been if I had used your selection?

Never owned a tube tester because I don't resell enough tubes to drink the Kool Aid. But for all the 'matched' sets I've bought over the years, 'matching' goes out the window as soon as you stick them in push-pull amp and see how different they are.

How is the Eico 628? If it's a good one , would be enough to tell you tube life and be able to make matched sets?

Dummyload, what/where would you have used the choke and resistor? Sorry but I'm confused.

I would have used a Hammond 157L choke in series with a 180R 5-7W resistor. --Pete
