The Parable of the Toaster | When "It's a Player Issue" is no excuse

A man works as a product designer making kitchen appliances. His latest project is a toaster. It's efficient, it browns the bread perfectly, and it doesn't use up too much counter space. There's just one problem. If someone sticks a knife into it, the toaster painfully shocks them. The man says, "You shouldn't stick a knife into a toaster, everyone knows that." But he's still fired. What are the 7 dungeons in D&D World of Warcraft all about?

We reported the other day that various online influencers have been given access to the upcoming World of Warcraft book, and have permission to discuss certain elements of that book. It's not on their site yet, but I saw two ads on Facebook today, basically saying "coming soon" Books shown were a collection of Drizzt novels, the Finders Stone trilogy, and for those with a gaming table that has one leg shorter than the others - Dragonlance ^_^ I'll keep a lookout for these, looks like a chance to expand my bookshelves for a (possibly) decent price.

Implementing Gold for XP [+]

Yeah, yet another thread about gold for XP. Inspired by the discussion between @overgeeked and @Lanefan in this thread: OSR IS LYING TO YOU! A reasonable discussion about OSR The + sign is in the title because I want to keep this a focused thread, focused on the discussion of implementing Gold for XP. This assumes that you want to do this and you find that the type of play this rule incentivizes to be compelling. Why am I bothering with this? I’m planning a... Read more
