I kinda like her... She's cool...
I've been waiting for the shooting, and not the announcements. I'm gonna buy one.
Gunshow. Sorry, wrong Ron. I did go to a gun show in Fort Worth today with one thing in mind. I decided to proceed with a new purchase in my quest to be civilized. I bought it so that I could use it on a new build that I have not even test fired. I got a couple of adapters for alternate calibers and thread patterns. I used our newly-restored right to purchase it with a GOA membership, 4473, Texas LTC and cash. I was done in about 20 minutes. There's no NICS check with a Texas LTC. I have not tested it yet, so I can't tell you how well it works.
I have been working on a LR-308 build. Barrel as noted above with an AR Stoner compensator. The rest of the major components are AeroPrecision M5, Vortex viper scope and LaRue mount. Also using adjustable gas block. From day 1 have had accuracy issues. Torques verified, barrel bedded in, tried 147, 168 and 178 ammo. Finally shot today without the compensator and groups went from 5 MOA to 1.5 MOA. Looking to see if anyone has experience with this particular barrel and can recommend a compensator that is better suited. Considering a VG6 Epsilon. any experiences would be appreciated Thanks in advance
Hey all. So, I'm not new to this forum, been coming here for over a decade, but I suppose there was a backend change at some point and lost my account. Anyway... I (maybe stupidly) jumped on Primary Arms' recent deal on stripped SR-762 lowers. Bought a pair of them for some builds I've had in mind. I'm no stranger to building large frame ARs, and thought it wouldn't be too difficult to find parts to finish the receivers and find matching uppers even with the rifles being out of production for several years. My hope was to find some Ruger or AR10A small parts to do some further test fitting to see what sticks... Numrich has a decent amount of Ruger small parts, but no takedown pins in stock. I reached out to Ruger but have not received a response yet. No dice on any Armalite small parts A or B series. Down to brass tacks... I'm looking for a source on these parts in order to finish the receivers and build a couple rifles: Small parts in general, but especially pivot and takedown pins, including springs - the takedown detent spring is longer on the Ruger since it is installed through the rear of the receiver. Bolt catch - as best I can tell an AR10A bolt catch should fit Upper receiver with DPMS threads - I've looked at the Centurion Mk11 and HTX Concepts SR25. Both look promising. I know the likelihood of them using the same pin size is next to nil. Thanks.
Forgot about em but 1,111 warning points i know @98Z5V has about a million of them. 😆
I visited my lgs and he had one more aero m5 upper hidden away that he let me purchase. I already built an upper just for steel targets so I thought maybe I could build this upper for hunting whitetails and the occasional coyote that gets in the way. Has anyone successfully used a large ar platform for hunting and if so, how is it set up? I was thinking 7mm-08 for the caliber with a 16”-18” lightweight barrel, but im open to any and all suggestions!
This is nuts. Obviously, I watch some HeavyDSparks stuff. Craziest recovery I've ever seen. Worth the minutes, I guarantee you.
Never forget
Think I need a bullet trap for my backyard to shoot suppressed!
This is a really good vid, and this guy always publishes great information. Well worth the time. It's the difference between military grade weapons and commercial grade weapons.
