Upon receiving the dreaded engine failure letter for my 2023 LX600 with 25k miles currently on the odometer, I was presented with an option: wait until Lexus approves the new engine replacement, or drop $35k and get a brand new 2026 LX600. As much as I don't want to waste $35k given that one of the main reasons for purchasing an LX600 is reliability, and I really don't want some mechanic here in the states swapping an engine, I am leaning heavily toward the new car option. What a s*** show.

This guy showed up today. Normally a Cruiser getting dropped off at the shop is pretty normal around here but today was on day after me buying a 200 series and my wife thought I had completely lost my mind. Luckily the new owner, @Kaderabek is family and it was quickly confirmed that I had not just bought a second Land Cruiser in 24 hours.
I am currently pulling the RH side rear axle out to reseal everything. After taking the lock screws out of the lock ring I thought the tips looked a little different than the other side. These ones have “gone flat” or “mushroomed” the ends. Are these going to be okay to reuse? Or do I need to get new ones? I know the point is to help align everything. But I figured it being mushroomed out might make it hard. The second and third photo is after pulling the axle out, and noticed the screws... Read more
Good evening all. Greetings from Saudi Arabia. I am an expat working in KSA. Recently bought a super nice 1993 VXR. Will be attempting some nice overland trips with my family. Looking forward to share the experience here
I drove to work one morning and everything was completely fine a couple days after replacing my radiator with a oem one (mentioning because it has the transmission cooler in it) Then I go to leave for work and my power delivery is close to nothing, I can feel something spinning at what feels like the correct speed for the RPMS I’m at but there’s barley any acceleration. It also takes about 10 seconds to drop into gear and back to neutral and slips gears pretty bad while driving, reverse... Read more
My 61 needs new paint. So - i am thinking about a change in colour. And i am thinking green. But... I need some inspiration. So - share your green 60 series Cruisers.
We brought advocates from across the country to Washington, D.C., to show lawmakers why motorized access is disability access. Earlier this year when we launched our sweepstakes to give away a custom SXS we challenged our community to help us raise enough funds to bring a group of advocates to Washington, D.C. to build support for the Outdoor Americans with Disabilities Act. With your support we achieved our fundraising goal to make this happen. Over the past year, we have seen... Read more
i’ve got a more involved fj40 build going on but i bought this 72 off a friend a year and a half ago with the intent of making it safe and ready for when my kids are old enough to drive. i’ve got 5 years. nothing pretty. keep it reliable and something i’m not scared to take into the bush to go fishing first thing suspension. it came with terrible bias ply tires and combined with worn springs and bushings it felt like it wanted to kill me any time i drove it. it was hairy to drive (hence... Hello everyone, I am about to take delivery of a 1993 Land Cruiser 70 series 1KZ. Does anyone have any advice for registration/passing smog test that is required in Arizona? Thanks in advance
Just finished restoring a 1982 USA Sunrader on a 1982 pickup chassis. It has A/C which we don't use, so I want to just remove the belt to ensure the PAG oil in the compressor does not fail and damage the valuable system. Anyone know if I can simply remove the belt, which also drives the air pump and run it with no issues? If I have to do other things (remove/plug air pump hoses, etc) I'm happy to do it if someone knows what to do to preserve it. It's a super low mile (32k) vehicle and I... Read more
It's less than a month out from Fall Crawl now. Who here is planning to go? Is anybody registered but still on the fence about it? I'm gonna hate the fuel expense and venue fees but I'm pretty sure the only thing that'll keep me home will be rain with severe cold. I won't be wheeling because the trails I miss the most up there are not doable in any of my current trucks, so I'll do a ride along or just hang in camp most of the time. It's beautiful place to relax when the sun is out. FC... Read more
