hello to all forums. I decided to completely inspect my mercury 50 1977 9136284 and I encountered a problem with reed valves. a lot of them don't close completely, so I chose good reeds from the old engine and replaced them. now the question remains at what height the reed stop is adjusted as a recommended measure. thanks everyone in advance.

Hello, my bravo1 has developed a new noise. I just had my transom and stringers at engine restructured. After a few trips out on the water I noticed when the i turn the wheel all the way to starboard it sounds like the u joint is binding or fluttering noise. with each revolution at idle. I could feel the vibration all the way up through to the steering wheel. the u joint was just greased and didnt seem to have signs of bearing failure. Having major issues finding parts to rebuild my brad nailer I need piston ring 180457 which is had to find. Did find it and many call it a O-ring which it's not it's like a piston ring so has a gap. Found it on parts warehouse so have a idea. Item 113 has one O-ring and the piston ring mentioned previous. Item 107 has 2 O-rings, one regular and another which was clear and was coming apart. Hey everyone. Posted an initial query, but now diving in deeper and wanted to post a more comprehensive thread. mid 80's 6c TOP 115. s# 6525632 Started out with 0 compression in cylinder 3. Powerhead off. Goal is to hopefully get engine going, but worst case, to learn a bit about it. I think the block is good. Definitely have some piston damage. On my recently purchased 2015 Monterey 196MS, with an Alpha ONE Gen 2 outdrive, I was troubleshooting why the speedometer did not work, and found the pitot tube not connected at the outdrive (see photo). I believe I found the connector (item 24), a pn 860382, that looks to be missing, to connect the black tubing to the plastic fitting with the red ring/relief. I have a 2001 johnson ocean pro 115hp outboard motor. When I initially turn the key the bendix goes up an engages with the flywheel as it should. Then maybe 2 seconds later the flywheel no longer spins and only the starter spins. I've replaced the bendix and battery, what could be wrong?

Hello all, Went through and did the annual maintenance. Got the boat out this past Saturday and from the first startup to getting to the last fishing spot, the engine worked wonderful. However after calling it a day, crank the engine, starts and idles fine. Go to accelerate, engine dies. After a few times of starting and dying, we find out the boat can move while sitting back and continuously pumping the fuel ball pump. Having been the lucky owner of this '59 deep C for 6 or 7 years now, I have determined that my boat, runs the best with a . .. wait for it.. I mistakenly cut my transome to accommodate a short shaft, having started with my little baby '75 15hp. I graduated to a '78 25hp short shaft, then the 30hp I have now. I rebuilt the transome with a jack plate from on the fly jackplates, and oh man. This boat needs power, and, deserves to have the jackplate to get that motor off of... Read more

Hey, looking for some insight from the Gurus I have a 2018 Cruiser yacht with twin Mercruiser Seacore 377 EC Closed-loop cooling; the exhaust manifolds have coolant going through them The elbows have fresh water running through them I have a problem where, after four minutes at full throttle on plane, it goes into guardian mode The error is port exhaust manifold coolant temp too high; it gets to about 214 degrees I took off the port elbow, scraped out some rust from the ports... Is there anyone on Lake Wylie that has this fish finder on their boat on lake Wylie? The fish finding feature on mine is not working and I would like to plug mine into another one to see if it is my actual unit or the transducer. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks, Joe.

I have a 2006 Signature 240 I just purchased and the helm seat is supposed to fold flat. The release mechanism is jammed and it doesn’t really move. Has anyone else deal with this? I’m not sure if I need to completely remove it to work on it, or if I can do anything with it in place. Thanks- Lou

Hello, Has anyone ever had the issue of the tilt banging at certain intervals going up and down. Seems to tilt ok, can go all the way up and down but pretty bad sound at times. Seems to be when transom bracket is tilting. Reservoir is full. Any ideas? Thank you View attachment IMG_E8415.mp4
