New multi-IO mixer

I've always used Mimo's excellent MixIO but I recently found that its mute/solo controls are not exported data-wise as I need so I wondered whether my 'Pedal Gain Multi' effect could back-port from ReBuzz to Buzz. Turns out converting it from managed ReBuzz machine to native Buzz machine was trivial (for Claude, just a bit time-consuming for me!) so the result is a new multi-IO mixer for Buzz1503. https://github.com/thepedal/pedal-gain- ... tag/v1.7.0 As far as I've tested it's working nicely but feel free to call out any problems!

Future of Buzz / Lots of new DAWS

Thanx for the DAW list! I agree, inflation of audio software is overwhelming! Plugins are even more.... And there are even more DAW: e.g.: https://github.com/zrythm/zrythm https://www.kvraudio.com/product/darkst ... niac-audio My belief is that only a few will be developed further in a few years. At the end of the day that is for me a major reason for ReBuzz, porting Buzz into the next liefe cycle! (W11, MIDI2.0 ....).

Detecting VST3 plugins

Update: Buzz now detects VST3 plugins on my Buzz 64 bit. Not sure what worked, but I opened Buzz one day and it was detecting and using VST3 plugins well. Also, prior to this, I found this interesting plugin for hosting CLAP, VST3 and others as a workaround. https://github.com/DISTRHO/Ildaeil cool wrapper, thanx for the link! Bookmarked it, just in case Which OS do you use for ReBuzz? Which version of ReBuzz?

256-tap SINC resampling in open source trackers

Yeah, all other cores are nice, but mostly nostalgia. Even some Buzz machines sound better than those. I have been working on the Tracker core today which is what the topic is about. 1.8.1 gains Loop In and Loop Out points, which you can set from the playing order with the F0 and G0 keys, or through host parameters and MIDI CC 20 and CC 21. A new Wait for Pattern End option, enabled by default, makes position keys jump once the current pattern finishes instead of cutting it off mid-play. Basically, now you’ve got a live phrase sequencer

Future of Buzz / Lots of new DAWS

There has been an explosion of new free DAWS in the last few years. Some of this has to do with vibe-coding (some not). I kinda worry about Buzz (or Rebuzz) surviving amidst this onslaught. Yes, some are kinda half-baked or AI slop but a bunch have incredible promise. I worry about Buzz being left behind or fading in the swirl of options. For Buzz to be competitive and last, I feel that buzz (or Rebuzz) needs to be: Stable - not crashing etc. Simple - easy installation without stuffing around, one great multi-out tracker, VST3 support (personally, I no longer use any internal Buzz synths like Infector), peer machines working etc. Thriving community to support any issues - like this forum Also, aware that I haven't helped much with Rebuzz testing etc. Here are a few new free DAWs (I haven't included the truckloads of new free retro trackers, browser only DAWs or AI music creation DAWs): Bero Tracker - https://www.berotracker.com/ -Looks like Bero Tracker has had some updates including VST3 support Septabee - wild new experimental DAW https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlNuv7AY4No Ultradaw - https://ultradaw.com/ - Modular tracker daw OMNI Daw - https://omnidaw.com/ - Vibecoded but looks kinda epic as a DAW YAWN - https://github.com/tkleisas/yawn - Has some abelton aspects Bespoke - https://www.bespokesynth.com/ Orch - https://orch-21u.pages.dev/ Magda - https://magda.land/ Nota - https://github.com/nota-daw/ Splitwave - https://splitwave.app/ - Looks interesting has modular cabli
