Serviced pitches in West Sussex in October

Hi, We are looking to find nice sites with fully serviced pitches that are open all year round in the West Sussex area. Not the two clubs but independent sites. Any good ones out there? Many thanks.

Jockey wheel tantrum!

I'm sure everyone has experienced this... As our holiday pitch was on an incline, we had to lower the front quite a bit... to the extent the jockey wheel was practically in the A-frame I had to put the steadies down at the front, then lift more of the jockey wheel bar up, which allowed us to lower the front even more to level We then had a fantastic 2 weeks of holiday in Devon, then the fun came to pack up with 27 degree heat! I did the complete opposite of what we did to level the caravan, then engaged the motor movers and manoeuvred the caravan out... (due to being on an awkward corner) reversed the car, and started to lower the jockey wheel by turning the handle...then it stopped a few inches above the tow ball (arghhhhh). So I had to get the drill out and lower front levels down again, and then pull the jockey pole more up, so this would allow me to lower the front end more to connect. Pouring of sweat... and all this while someone was sitting in there in a car... Read more

Greetings from an exile in Germany

Hello Everyone, I’m English but married to a German and have lived in southwest Germany for over 13 years now. We have two kids (currently 6 and 9) and have done thousands of kilometres across Europe in our VW T6.1 California Beach. With the kids getting bigger it became obvious that the van was getting a little cramped for the four of us. We didn’t really want a bigger van due to the cost and the day-to-day practicalities of driving anything larger in towns. So, a small caravan seemed the best option for us. We can do longer tours with it and the California, whilst retaining the flexibility of just the California for shorter trips. We’ve always liked the look and compactness of an Eriba so when a change in personal circumstances meant that some family friends no longer needed their Eriba we asked if we could have it. So since last weekend we are the proud owners of a 1993 Eriba Troll. We will use the vehicles basically just for sleeping when we go on holiday, we live outside... Read more

Cracks in cabin joints on LMC

Hello, I have an integrated motorhome (LMC, 2014) on a Fiat Ducato base. I've found cracks radiating from the mounting bolts at the cab-to-body joint (rear of the cab, near the windscreen/window seal) — see photos below. I've also noticed that the bonnet doesn't seal properly against the cab seals anymore and moves freely. This is near the same area as the cracks, but I'm not sure if the two issues are related. My mechanic thinks this may be caused by the cab mounting points being too rigid, causing stress/torsion cracking in the GRP around the bolts over time, and suggested either reinforcing the mounts or switching to a more flexible (bushed) mounting. Has anyone dealt with something similar? How serious is this, and what's the best way to fix it? I'm also sending photos to LMC/factory for their input, but would appreciate hearing from anyone with hands-on experience. Thanks!

Warranties

My wife and I purchased an Adria caravan in September 2022 and on the most recent service report it reports an area of damp. The engineer that carried out the service believes that the water is entering the caravan through a fault on a seam on the roof. Although this is covered by the warranty, unfortunately, the company where we purchased the caravan, (Barnsdale Caravans), are no longer trading. I have contacted several other Adria dealers but none of them are willing to accept ‘transient’ customers or carry out any warranty work and when I email Adria they just send an automated message saying that I have to call the company that I purchased the caravan from. Could anyone please advise me on how I should proceed with the issue of getting the caravan repaired

A Sad Day.

The British Heart Foundation made a net loss of £3.3m last year from its network of 651 charity shops, its accounts have shown. They have announced the closure of 150 shops . Obviously redundancy for many salaried staff. If a Charity string of shops , with mostly donated stock can’t make money , no wonder we are seeing our High Streets dying. A great shame for all involved.😢

LARGE GAP APPEARED

A very large gap has appeared in my caravan between the offside wall of the caravan and the kitchen and shower units. It is ok at the top and bottom but not in the middle. As you can see from the images it has caused a considerable amount of stress and damage to some of the joints. I have removed the cooker and will no doubt have to remove the shower unit to affect some sort of repair, but what that would be is as yet unknown. Can anyone please advise me of the possible cause of the gap appearing and a way forward?

Solar MC4, easy disconnect type

On the portable solar panels purchased over the years most have couplings that are far more user friendly than the industry norm. For our portable application these are way easier, along with being tool free to disconnect compared to the standard ones, every vender of these tends to sell. Any guidance where I can get a few pairs of these user friendly version for using on my extension leads? Picture included , note the tweezer like mouldings on the type I seek
