Nextcloud is the leading collaboration platform with hundreds to thousands of add ons and features. The great but is: - Nextcloud needs a whole Apache, PHP, SQL database stack, around 30000-50000 files in thousands of folders - Nextcloud needs 300-400 MB space and a lot of RAM - Nextcloud needs a lot of know how for maintenance and security, mostly an IT departement My question is: Do I NEED all these options? My answer is: No not really in many cases for the... napp-it cs-team (ultralight "Nextcloud XXXS")

Looking for some advice on whether to go with a mini PC or a laptop for a specific use case. Current setup: I've got a laptop with 8GB RAM and it's really struggling. What I'm running: I've built a bot that's connected to my Discord server. When I need to buy something, I hit a button in Discord and it opens 25–30 separate browser instances (each its own profile/login) and starts completing the purchases automatically. Speed matters, since items can sell out quickly, so I need all the... Mini PC or laptop for running 25–30 browser sessions at once?

TL;DR: My Qotom 1U's CPU fan has a bearing fault. I want to order the replacement before I pull the unit, so I only take my firewall down once. If anyone has this chassis open — or a photo of the fan label — I'd love the manufacturer and model number. The hardware: Model Qotom Q20332G9-1U (1U rackmount) CPU Intel Atom C3758 (8-core, 2.20 GHz) Board QDNV01
I have ~160 drives online at home. Not as many as a few people here, but still *way* more than most, and more than I can keep track of without help. So things keep happening that *really* show that I need better organization. For instance, I've replaced drives in zpools, forgotten to remove them from the enclosure, and then 6 months later asked myself "where did this unused drive come from?" and tried to put it back into production. Oops. I've been slowly building up a tool for managing... Tracking a fleet of drives in Linux
I've tried OpenSUSE and Ubuntu Server, but can't get Linux to work on this system. The best I've been able to do is limit 'maxcpu' to 64 in grub, which allows one slot to be recognized. Trying to use both causes the system to restart during boot. I'm completely lost on what to try or check! From my research, here are some of the things I've tried. - Disabled Core Performance Boost (CPB) and fixed Global C-States Control to rule out voltage drop failures when all cores...
