Raw Beef for Cats

Posted on behalf of member RussellG: I am wondering if it’s ok to feed my cats straight raw beef with no breaks and no end? And nothing else? Regardless of their older age? Or do they need occasional fish too?

Cat has hip dysplasia, surgery recommended

This is my cat Miles, who is having a hard time jumping up onto anything higher than a chair. I was going to take him to chiropractor and acupuncturist, Reiki practitioner, but decided to finally get X-rays first. The chiropractor hasn’t seen Miles or the images yet, but says that they manage hip dysplasia with chiropractic care. The vet seems to think surgery where they cut of the top of the leg bone would get him pain free and able to be rehabilitated in terms of the atrophied muscles in... Read more

Cats reintroduced - what is unacceptable / acceptable?

I have searched but haven’t found anything that addresses my situation. I have two older cats with whom I botched the introduction ten years ago. They just never did great but coexisted until something made it terrible and I did the whole thing and successfully reintroduced them with the Jackson Galaxy method, followed by consistent ongoing clicker training. At the end of May I adopted two brothers, one year olds, and figured I would have no problem using that method. I need to mention... Read more

Petwealth Results following Persistent Diarrhea

Hi Everyone - I'm new to the group but Dr. Jeff was my labrador's vet over 20 years ago... I no longer live in CT but so happy to have access to him here. My dog's name is Poppet, he's a neutered, 8 year 3 month old "Mini" Bernedoodle who weighs about 72 lbs. BEAM - he is a lazy, happy love bug who might be the most food motivated dog on Earth. Thanks to my early training from Dr. Jeff, Poppet eats a wide variety of high quality, as local as possible, fresh foods mostly that I cook for him... Read more

12 year old Hyperthyroid cat with elevated liver values

@Dr. Christina @Dr. Jean Hofve @Dr. Jeff Arwen is a 12 year old spayed tortoiseshell cat. I included a recent pic of her. Her weight is currently 9.8 lbs. She has put on weight since beginning Methimazole in July. The only vaccination is Rabies at 5 months of age when she was spayed. She has always been a very sensitive, fragile cat. She is the love of my life. She is happiest when she has me all to herself. Unfortunately I have 8 other cats, one of who I brought... Read more

Digestive Concerns - Jett

1. Jett aka Nino, approx. 12 years old, male 2. Neutered 3. Corgi and Border Collie and possibly Labrador 4. Weights approx. 29 lbs. 5. BEAM: Behavior: gets easily anxious and scared of loud noises: he hides in dark spots and follows me or my husband around. Also when it's time to eat, he gets very anxious.
