JW Broadcasting - October 2026

Today is October 1, and as usual, the Broadcasting is expected to be released on the first Monday of the month. Of course, the Annual Meeting will be the main highlight this month. But it makes you wonder: what can we expect from the October Broadcasting? Could there be some exciting news or perhaps a surprise?

Microcontrollers - Arduino, Microbit, ESP32

Does anyone tinker with any microcontrollers like ESP32, Microbit, Arduino, etc? If so, what have you done with it? So much easier to code for than just 5 years ago. I have quite a collection of sensors, AI cameras, communication stuff, LCD/OLED displays, expansion boards and a lot more, but I am still an amateur, but liking what I see out there. It's an amazing world and unbelievably easy these days to make things happen these days. I have servos, step motors and such, but have not experimented with anything robotic yet. I know some of the schools teach their students on the easiest one (Microbit) with Block coding, but you can do JavaScript, MicroPython, etc on some of the IDE's. I have even used AI to come up with some quick code to save time. Microsoft MakeCode for micro:bit

Who's Carrying Whom?

*Note: Although I understand that this post MIGHT fit into the short story category, I felt it would fit better here...because my goal isn't to JUST to immerse you into the account...it's to encourage anyone who felt the same way I did. (There are times when a set of scriptures simply doesn't fully open up UNTIL I put it into the format of a story...and this was one of those times. Isaiah 46 has been on my mind quite a bit lately...not because I came to some huge personal "revelation" about it...but simply because the opening verses came up in a portion of my personal study, and for the first time in quite a while...they sort of sprang to life in my brain... and this is what eventually came out: Babylon woke with a strange trembling that morning. Not from marching armies, but from inside the city itself...from the temples, from the priests...from the sudden panic spreading through people like tiny cracks through stone. And then suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere...the two weary, worn out Israelite men emerged from a dirt path they had been walking into a small clearing and stumbled onto a scene that filled them with equal parts fascination and horror: The great idols of Babylon...life‑sized, rigid, plated with gold and silver, crowned with horns...dragged out of their temples in desperation amidst a wash of moaning onlookers wailing and beating their chests. Bel’s massive form swayed as priests tried to strap him onto an ox that could barely stand beneath him. Nebo’s wooden b

TV Settings at Kingdom Hall

Our Kingdom Hall recently underwent a major renovation, and everything looks great. A few publishers have mentioned concerns about the TV displays, and I am not sure whether the TVs are new or whether their settings are predetermined by the Branch. During the CO visit, we watched the Good News According to Jesus episode "This Is My Son," and it appeared that the TVs had motion smoothing enabled. This feature, sometimes called the "soap opera effect," makes video look unusually realistic rather than cinematic and can sometimes cause motion blur. I am particularly sensitive to this setting and find it difficult to watch videos when it is enabled because it can make me feel unwell. In addition, several people have commented that the screens seem darker than what we had before. It seems these issues could likely be addressed through the TV picture settings, but I do not know whether congregations are permitted to make such adjustments. Before I inquire further, does anyone know whether the TV settings are intended to remain as configured, or whether the congregation is allowed to adjust picture settings such as motion smoothing and brightness? I'm hoping adjustments are permitted, as otherwise I may need to avoid watching videos displayed on the screens.

Hi dear brother Sharing a talk with you. Hope it soothes your heart. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YX2ehl03XMMIkBJx3wsFT38BBJW5n-ce Jesus once said It has been accomplished John 19:30 Can you say that. Yes. He had a purpose. And he accomplished it. What is our purpose brother. After learning so much from God's word we now have the purpose to encourage our brothers and sisters which you are doing excellently. So feel happy for your achievements. How many hearts you have touched.. You have no idea brother. Your views are shared to many. Many is a countless word. So you have brought countless happiness. So be delighted. And carry on the fight with a smile For a little while And the good God has promised That He will be with you every mile. The one who seperated the red sea Will enable for you His glories to see the One who extended life for some one less ( the widows son) Will He not Bless the blessed ( you) So have full faith And give Him time to show his might Until then you can throw all your burdens at him and wait.. not with a sighing ❤️ But with a clear mind and a determined heart.. Agape. Dear brother.

As most of you are well aware, my heart aches with the physical absence of my dear wife. Every single day I struggle with this...not a moment goes by that I don't miss her deeply, that I don't long to come home and find her sitting curled up on the couch, her favorite blanket draped over her legs as she delves into a Watchtower study...or just reading her favorite magazine. Some days I struggle to breathe when I think about it too much...other days I am kept so busy I go hours without even really being conscious that she is still gone...until one tiny thing happens that instantly reawakens the pain...like a bad tooth being lit up in pain at the mere touch of something ice cold. I am slowly beginning to come back to life spiritually...that spark is buried too deeply inside me to ever really go out...but it's happening in fits and starts...my brain tells me that I NEED to get going...my heart nudges me toward

mu/TEX/tum - Obsidian plugin

I would like to make available another Obsidian plugin: mu/TEX/tum This is to allow easy importing (with conversion to Markdown) of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument, RTF, EPUB, CSV, and PDF documents. How this may be useful to this audience? For example, the assembly/convention programs can be downloaded from jw.org in RTF (Rich Text Format): You will just need to put the RTF file (or whatever file you want to import/convert) into your Obsidian vault. Right-click it there to have to option to import: And it will generate a note like the one below, wherere you can add your notes: If you also have the tra.VER:ture plugin, your scriptures will be auto-linked (and colored to your liking) - as you can see above. Of course, you can import/convert all kinds of documents. Many of our publications are available as ePub archives, for example. Keep in mind that the conversion is only as good as the original - and with the limitations of Markdown :-) Also, note that if you try to import PDFs, these must be text-based only; scanned or image-only PDFs will not work, as this would require OCR. More information in the GitHub repo or the Obsidian Community directory . As always, feel free to ask questions here, or report issues/suggestions in the repo .

That USED To Be Me!

I was gathering my things after the meeting last week when a brother, we'll call him Brother "Halvorsen", approached me. He moved slowly, the way he always does now, but his eyes were still bright and warm. After asking me if I had a moment to chat, he told me he wanted to show me something and pulled his phone out of his pocket and started squinting at the screen. Finally locating what he was after, he opened his photos and began scrolling through picture after picture of him and his wife from decades ago. Moving closer, I began to watch as his screen filled with black and white photos...pictures of him and his wife when they were young, vibrant, full of energy. In one photo they were standing beside a literature cart downtown, smiling like they had just discovered the truth. In another they were hiking a trail I recognized from our local area. In yet another they were sitting at a table with a group of young ones they used to study with. His wife had passed away years ago, but he spoke about her as if she had only stepped out of the room for a moment...as if she would come join him at any second, taking his arm and moving close against him. Minutes felt like seconds as he recounted story after story...telling me how MUCH he looked forward to seeing her again in the new system. But then, in the midst of his reminiscing, he said something that surprised me...although I don't really know why. He said he appreciated what Jehovah still allowed him to do NOW, even if it was nowhe
