The encoders are worth understanding before changing the Mach3 settings. If the Gecko drives are using the encoder feedback internally, Mach3 may only need to handle the step/direction signals, but it depends on the exact drive model and wiring. I’d st...

In Mach3, they serve different purposes. An MPG (Manual Pulse Generator) is basically a handwheel used to manually jog an axis. When you turn the wheel, Mach3 reads the pulses and moves the selected axis according to the chosen increment or multiplier....
Could he create his own screen tab with the features he wants and have MachPro go to that page on startup?
OK, much stupidity here. I picked up a 1/2 nut to check the threads with and it turned out to be a 12mm metric nut. Duh, no wander the threads were off. MY BAD :'(
You may also be able to accomplish this through a GMS process, but that would still require some Lua programming and the creation of custom files to load. The edit-offset controls were placed behind a tab and button to reduce the risk of accidental cha...
By default, I believe it is set to a rapid to zero. In the GoTo positions screen, you can configure the gcode however you like. I would say it is a little unintuitive at first I am adding a picture for clarities sake.
Is the Y axis on your machine a slave axis? When I get back to the office, I'll set up a ESS and do some testing to see if I can make sense of what is going on. Motion controllers should have access to our signals and configurations.
Hi, just started using Hobby Mach4, and installed on a Laptop, with the following spec: Quote Operating System Windows 10 Home 64-bit CPU Intel Core i7 6700HQ @ 2.60GHz Skylake 14nm Technology RAM 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11...
Im using Mach4 hobby on a Shopmaster lathe with a smoothstepper ESS. The problem is when threading to match a standard nut the TPI is off. I was just threading a rod for a 1/2-13 nut. I had the pitch set for .796 as the specs say and the threads were ...
Hi Paul, thanks for that reply. I'm still reading and trying to digest it all. Seems like it might take a day or two before I can configure this.....I'll let you know how I get on. Quote We do it this way to prevent operators from accidentally hitti...
With this, we will have to address it pragmatically as we do not have pre-canned options for doing this. We do it this way to prevent operators from accidentally hitting the a zero when they do not mean to. Use the following code in your UserGUIModule....
Hi Paul, OK, that's sounds logical. I'll try it out. With Mach4 there was no need to delve into any settings to get to operate, and in this regard MachPro is a little more complex to configure. Still can't quite work out why it worked ...
