Attachment quotum not resetting

Hello, After the changes to msfn (which will be necessary, I do not object and I thank Xper for all his good deeds) my attachment quotum never goes up again. Stays currently at 50.22 kB for days already. Or is there a new policy I am not aware of?

Sony Vaio Recovery

Hello I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX540. I purchased it second hand but it came without the original hard drive. It also came without the recovery discs. I figured I could get the ISOs of those on InternetArchive but for some reason the RX500 Recovery discs ONLY support RX550 and up but leaves out 540. I can find an IDE drive to throw in there but what I noticed was that if I tried to install Windows XP via a DVD, it didn't seem to work. Not sure if it's because it was burned to a DVD-R but it didn't seem to want to load into the Installation screen. I also don't think it would be possible to install Windows XP via USB on that motherboard. Has anyone figured out any easy workarounds for OEM machines like the Sony Vaio WITHOUT having the original drive? I'm fully aware that on the original drive it has a recovery partition but that's not an option in this scenario and ebay currently doesn't seem to have any recovery discs for the RX540 specifically. I plan to either image this onto an IDE drive or on a SATA drive using an IDE to SATA adapter (startech). My hope was to be able to get it back to stock using the original applications but it doesn't seem like that will be easy without those specific discs. Lastly, someone online mentioned that you might be able to buy a drive that comes from a specific model and create a recovery disc that way but I don't see any of those either and it doesn't seem like anyone archived a C drive from a Sony Vaio (that would seem like a good idea for a

How do you turn a device on/off from the command line?

The very action we usually perform through the Device Manager when we need to turn a particular device on or off. How can this be done from the command line? Google suggested "devcon", but it turned out to be incompatible with Windows 98. Are there any alternatives to "devcon" or corresponding native Windows mechanisms that allow this to be done from the command line?

XP on UEFI – Building a CSM.EFI from scratch for Windows XP SP3

Hi, here comes a new experiment and, I hope, big(!) discussions about booting XP SP3 x86 on a x64 UEFI system without requiring CSM in the motherboard BIOS firmware. I noticed that it is easy to start a csm.efi file just from an extra partition on a normal HD. So the idea is: x64 UEFI firmware ==> csm.efi on HD ==> 16-bit BIOS environment ==> MBR ==> original NTLDR ==> original Windows XP SP3 Via this way it should be possible to keep nearly 100% compatibility with original XP SP3. And now step by step for dummies like me. ;) Dietmar

Custom AMD A9-9420 Modded Drivers [Dell & Retail Editions] for Windows 7

Hi MSFN Community, I'm sharing a set of custom modded AMD drivers targeting the AMD A9-9420 APU (Radeon R5 Graphics) with full Windows 7 compatibility! There are two package options included in the download: Dell Edition (amd a9420 modded.zip) — Specially modified for Dell OEM laptops. Retail Edition — Modified for generic/retail hardware setups. IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: You MUST use the INF installation method via Device Manager ("Have Disk..." option). Running a standard setup.exe installer will not work for this modded driver. Installing manually via the .inf file is the only way it will successfully install. Notice for OEM Laptop Users: If you have an OEM laptop with an AMD A9-9420 APU and are testing this driver, please check Device Manager and reply with your Hardware IDs (VEN_1002&DEV_...). This will help ensure all OEM subsystem IDs are fully supported in future INF updates. Credits & Acknowledgments: AMD — For original base driver files. VideoHelp — For tools, guides, and resources. fuf — Driver modding, INF edits, and testing. Download Link: https://archive.org/details/modified-amd-radeon-software-adrenalin-2020-edition-20.4.2-display-driver-packag Disclaimer: Use this modded driver at your own risk. Make sure to create a System Restore point or back up your system before installation.

AHCINT - scsiport miniport generic AHCI driver for NT/2K/XP

Hi @Dietmar @ages2001 has been working on a scsiport miniport Generic AHCI driver for NT/2K/XP. They asked me to test it out on my hardware and we've gotten it working in NT and in 2000 and XP when using the standard HAL and MPS Multiprocessor HAL. However we've run into trouble when using the ACPI Uniprocessor/Multiprocessor HAL in both 2000 and XP, when using those HALs no drives are being detected. Would you be willing to help find the cause of this problem? If you are, you can find the source code here - https://github.com/ages2001/AHCINT

Problem with my license

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble activating my license. I changed my hard drive and CPU and reinstalled Windows 11, but my license won't activate anymore. I've also sent two emails to technical support at "startisback@gmail.com" but haven't received a reply. How can I fix this? Thanks a lot.
