Give it Giggs’y til the end of the season
& when it all goes pear shaped we definitely won’t be calling for either of their heads…mainly due to our confusion! Clever!
I hate the bloke but Smurfwaite always turned up to his AGMs to face the fans. The leather jacket one where he mouthed off for two hours being memorable. Fair play to him for that. This postponement just looks weak and cowardly.
that depends what youre on about :) it wasnt a blanket statement.
Available EFL Directors of Football / Sporting Directors • Craig Gardner: He is highly available after stepping down from his Director of Football role at Birmingham City. He has extensive experience navigating squad overhauls, EFL compliance, and high-pressure modern recruitment strategies. • Dan Ashworth: Following his abrupt exit from Manchester United, Ashworth is currently the most prominent elite executive on the market. While his most recent work was in the Premier League, his foundational blueprint for elite sporting director structures in the UK was built in the EFL during his highly successful stint at West Bromwich Albion. • Simon Wilson: An experienced executive who recently left Stockport County, where he was instrumental in their rapid ascent through the EFL. • Gregg Broughton: The former Director of Football at Blackburn Rovers is available and has deep experience balancing the tight financial lines of the Championship while building sustainable recruitment and development structures.
postponing the forum is outrageous. I want answers for the current debacle not a Q+A session with a “sporting director”
And what about off the field?
The team manager becomes the Chief Coach, the SD picks the players recruited so they need to be on the same wavelength. The SD picks a CC to suit the players and style of play of the club. Some interesting questions for the next meeting?
Northampton Town are in a similar position to PVFC and have just been taken over by a consortium involving the ex-footballer Alexandre Pato. There seems to be a lot of people/organizations involved in this consortium so making decisions is going to be interesting moving forward. As fans have posted on OVF, there are companies interested in taking over lower league football teams but only time will tell whether this is the right fit for NTFC. My main reason for posting about this is about the debt. The article says, "The debt at the last set of accounts was over £13.5m and is sure to have grown prior to today's takeover. That underlines the scale of investment". The article also claims, "Northampton Town confirmed the deal would leave them debt-free". Questions to the accountants/fans who may have some thoughts on this; "What has happened to the debt"? How can a club be over £13.5m in debt then all of a sudden be debt free? If the debt were made up of loans from banks then the banks would want re-paying. If they were from the previous owners then they could have been written off and then included in the purchase price of the club, a figure which was not given. Have the consortium paid somewhere between £13.5 -20m to wipe out the debt plus pay for the ground/players/fixtures etc? There are some parallels here with what might be in PVFC's future, hopefully very distant future. BBC SportConsortium including Alexandre Pato completes Northampton...The takeover of Northampton Town b

They have only been IFR approved since 2025, maybe on a club by club basis, bit vague really, fingers crossed.
