Heya, I'm looking to see whether to have a referral with Dr. Senapati. Since I'm close to her and she's on the NHS, I thought of going to see her but wanted the advices of those who had her perform their CL on them. How does the cosmetic, how was the recovery and care, how was she ? Etc etc.

My son's cleft lift is scheduled for this coming Tuesday. I have talked some about how we got to this point and what a role the people of this forum have played in getting us here. I think it is important to continue the conversation about cleft lift surgery so I wanted to start a thread documenting his progress- and questions I or others might have about the process. I have left his name out on purpose thinking that maybe if he were anonymous he may find it easier to share his surgery... Read more

Hi all. I'm new here, I hope this is the best place to ask this advice So I had pilonidal sinus closed excision back in June this year (in the UK). Yesterday I went back to the hospital and they confirmed that either I have a recurrence of the sinus, or a new one has formed, he couldn't tell. He said the only option was to excise it again, but this time with open-excision. Before having the surgery in June I asked the surgeon if a cleft lift would be possible, he said they don't do that... Read more

Hi all I’m currently dealing with a pilonidal cyst and, due to NHS waiting times, I’m having to look into going private for surgery. I’ve done some research and the cleft lift seems to be the most recommended option. However, I take blood thinners (Rivaroxiban) and I’m concerned this may affect whether I can have the procedure. For anyone who has had a cleft lift while taking blood thinners: were you able to have the surgery, and how soon after the operation were you able to restart your... Read more
Hi everybody, I had a GIPS procedure on 9/8/26, and went to my 2 week followup yesterday. The hole is healed up and closed, and the doctor said that tenderness and hardness could be scar tissue forming. I'm a bit worried since the pain and hard lump literally feels like the cyst itself prior to the procedure (non absessed, at least) and it is throwing me off. I've read a bunch of stories and haven't seen much about the hardness feeling like the cyst, so figured I'd ask the community and see... Read more

Hey guys, new to this forum but long story short I have recently had a lance and drain on a pilonidal abscess which left me with two wounds, after doing my own research I managed to convince my GP to refer me to Dr. Asha Senapati (5 hours drive Wales to portsmouth) however the consultation is on a private bases (£250) I'm going down on the 18th December, If I go private and have the cleft lift does anybody know the rough costings? Also does anyone know how payment works (30 days for example... Read more
First-time poster How do you all deal with the paranoia from the disease? I am from Canada but currently living abroad (Japan); in September of last year, I had an incision and drainage of a cyst. It was maybe the most painful experience of my life, as I fear I have an immunity/resistance to numbing shots. It also didnt help that no one at the hospital spoke English at a high level, nor is my Japanese any good. I'm unsure of what caused it exactly, but the humidity here is so high, and I... Read more
