"Wanted: Porsche 944 S2, 1989/90"

Wanted: Porsche 944 S2, 1989/90 (preferably rubber spoiler rather than the later bridge spoiler), manual, coupe. I've spent a good while researching the S2 properly before jumping in — model years, colours, known rust spots (sills, front and rear lower wings), the cambelt/balance belt/water pump service history that matters most, and realistic market pricing. I'm not browsing on a whim; I know what I'm looking for and what a well-documented car should look like. In terms of spec, I'd love... Read more

Rev counter/Tachometer faulty

Hi The rev counter on my 911SC is playing up. It works ok for 10 miles or so, then shows either nil revs or very high revs. I have checked the wiring as far as I can and thought it might be the wiring from the CDI unit, which I think sends pulses to the rev conter/tachometer, but the plug into the CDI unit seems v firmly in. It seems unlikely to be the 12v power supply wire (from the ignition switch and/or oil pressure gauge) or the wire to the rev limiter. I had similar problem 5 years ago... Read more

911S 2.7 targa 1975 reassembly

Having just got our beautifully resprayed shell back we will be having the challenge of putting it all back together ourselves. We love any advice especially the order of reassembly from anyone with experience of doing this.

Morimoto LED Headlights

I am considering ordering a pair of the Morimoto style led headlights for my 997.2 and wondered if anyone in Scotland or in the north of England had them installed and would not mind me seeing them installed in their car.

Free Coding/Adaptations

Hi everyone, I've been a lurking member on here for years and as a way of giving back to the community, I'd like to offer a number of free diagnostic scans and coding/adaptation sessions to fellow members with 981/718/991.1/991.2 vehicles. I use the ThinkDiag diagnostic/coding system and have adapted around 20 changes to my own 718. Examples: Rain sensor activation Sport Chrono display enhancements Window and roof operation via key fob and once touch operation Auto... Read more

setting date with piwis 2?

My 2012 997.2 won't let me set the date, and the date is wrong (it shows 2007), although I can set the time From what I've read, if the car has GPS, the PCM only takes the date from GPS — and because of the GPS week rollover bug ( https://safran-navigation-timing.com/the-gps-2019-week-rollover-what-you-need-to-know/ ), the date comes out wrong. I've seen a video where someone switches the PCM to a non-GPS mode, which then allows setting the date manually ( ). But that... Read more

New to 944's

Hello all, I've just become the owner of this 944 S2 Cabriolet, in very good condition considering it has barely turned a wheel in the last 20 years. It has had some work done to recommission it, but I am expecting issues as I start to use it. The first of those being a bit of a warm start issue . I am going to be on a steep learning curve.

Targa Roof Marks - can these be repaired? Under warranty?

Hi everyone I am having an issue with my 991.2 targa roof. It has developed patches down both sides, and the fabric towards the rear of it looks like its scuffing against something. Can you suggest how to cure, or could this be covered by warranty? (I have tried to investigate this before - but cant find the feedback - although it now seems to look worse!) AI suggests its scuffing, : Potential Remedies & Cleaning Strategy Deep Cleaning & Pile... Read more
