Hello, I am hoping some-one has in-depth, hands-on knowledge of the Superstox cars from the 80s. My query concerns removal and refitting the guide assembly. I have a broken chassis that has a guide in place and a good chassis with no guide in place but cannot work out how to remove the guide and transfer it. I have managed remove and replace the braid so that aspect is not a problem. If you can explain the difference between a Type 1 guide and the Type 2 that would be useful but I am pretty sure the donor chassis is a Type 1. Leo

Hi, I have been working on a digital pro bono FREE TOOL that I called the TRACK OPTIMIZER that fits Scalextric Sport track to real world official circuit data to Scalextric Sport track using catalogue pieces only, and it now also renders a flyover of the finished lap on the D level. After choosing which track you want to build (50 famous tracks available, synced with the F1 and NASCAR Cup Series calendars), you can type in what is already in your box and it shows you which pieces are still missing to finish that famous circuit (missing shown as black pieces in the pdf and 3mf export files), or you can have the system build the track from an 'empty box'. The program features a color-coded lay-out order in .png as well as .3mf format you can view in MS Windows 3D Builder and a export sequential lay-list with SKU codes to build from. N.B. This is an independent tool, not published by Hornby Hobbies. You can try it for free on https://track-optimizer.lovable.app/ One level for every ambition/budget: B — Budget Detailed official red-line profile, approximately 12-17 metres of track. Full SKU catalogue. Export files include C — Detailed Larger-scale official red-line profile, approximately 34–48 metres, allowing hairpins to fit. Full catalogue. More accurate fit than B. D — Full Accuracy Largest practical official red-line profile (BIG room required), producing approximately 48–64 metres of track. Follows the red official centreline most closely. Output also includes the flyover. E
Alright chaps! Ok, so aside from some landscaping and such to finish off, my track layout is now pretty much complete. (that said, I *might* add some more split-with-a-bread knife/single lane stuff, elevated of course, but I'm still thinking about that....hmm) Everything is where it ought to be, structures and supports are all good, and there's a strong current throughout. So here's a little rip round with my new favourite car ( which, has been sitting idle since I first acquired it - I should have recomissioned it/ got it back into action *months* ago) - the Jaguar Xj220.

Test Night Sept 2026.jpg Size: 216.12 KB Downloads: 17 Nineteen of us pitched up to test cars in preparation for the autumn's Digital Saturdays, which start in ten days time with the 2026 WHO Goodwood Revival. Although we'd shifted the test night from its regular August slot, the summer weather carried over - a proper hot day seeing plenty of people in shorts and t-shirts. Phil was using the evening to check out whether he could make the jump from home digital racing to our club system - and it looked like he could. Some racers had one or two cars to try out, others had a dozen or more. Plenty of work went on during the evening...
