The submersible pump connects to PEX (5106 160psi @73), which connects to the main PVC line (all inside the spring house). I am not concerned about the PVC, just the PEX. The switch is set to 40/60. See fittings in photos. With a CSV installed, how well will the PEX and its fittings be able to withstand the increased back pressure during and after the slow 1gpm filling of the pressure tank? The pump is: SHUR-DRI SD-A202-02 3/4HP, 10GPM 2 WIRE 230V 60Hz 1PH Code: 001J09H I have not been... Read more
Tried to make a post asking a question about a DWV inspection a couple of days ago and after typing it up and submitting it, the screen told me it was submitted for approval. Does anyone know how long that takes? It's been 2 day and was trying to get advice before the inspection on Tuesday.
The water supply for my refrigerator is about a 1/4-inch-wide clear plastic hose. It has sprung a pinhole leak, at a point where it's fairly easy to access. I had some supposedly leak-proof white plumber's tape left over from a previous DIY job, so I wrapped the leak with it, then wrapped that with duct tape. When I turned the water back on, it still escaped at the edge of the tape, downstream from the original leak (i.e., closer to the refrigerator). I repeated the procedure three more... Read more
Hello Experts! First of thank you so much for all the the knowledge you have shared with me. I am embarking on my next bathroom renovation. It has a laundry, and will have a bathroom group above. I drew the images below with craft amigo. Does the wetvent look ok? I am just not sure if it is ok to have a toilet upstream of the shower on a wet vent system such as in my layout below.
I know this subject has been beaten to death and back again, but my roll of Silvabrite is just about done, so I am about to order more solder. Reviews (such as they are) suggest that Sterling brand solder (which has no silver content despite the name) actually flows easier and at a lower temperature than Silvabrite 100, particularly on larger fittings like shower valves. I don't do nearly as much sweating anymore since I sold off most of my property and I'm approaching 70, so the next... Read more
I have a 520' well at 6.5 gpm and a static water line at 200'. I am having a hard time determining what to use for the drop pipe. I am planning on setting the pump at 500'. I am also having a hard time determining the PSI, which, as I understand it, determines what type of drop pipe to use. Any input and help is greatly appreciated.
