DK40SE Starting Problem

Gear, not HST. I turn the key and it doesn't turn over. The preheater seems to work and I can start the tractor by jumping the solenoid. I've checked all the fuses, so before I start tearing it apart, should I start with the ignition switch or one of the interlocks first? Thanks!

NEED HELP FINDING 455 LUG BOLTS

I am adding 1.5" spacers to widen the rear stance on a 455. The stock Deere lug bolts don't seem to be working. When tightening them down the socket slips off the head. What is happening is the spacers have a fairly deep recess with a cone shape, where as when the stock bolts are mounted on just the wheel, the wheel has 3 raised dimples that allow the socket to fully seat over the bolt head. So, I'm thinking I need a lug bolt with a with a higher head with a cone, plus slightly longer bolt. A... Read more

Another Restoration Project

I haven't had time to be on the forum for a while. My last project was a Ford445A industrial. I just bought a 1975 Massey Ferguson MF 400 loader/ripper. Not running. I am showing a bunch of before pictures this time. When I did the Ford, people were asking for before pictures and I did not have any.

Welding Helmet Recommendations for Different Projects

Hello everyone. I’m looking to buy a new welding helmet and would appreciate some advice from people who have used different models. I mainly do MIG and stick welding for small fabrication and repair projects, but I may start doing more TIG work in the future. I’m trying to understand which features are actually worth paying extra for, especially auto-darkening, lens clarity, viewing area, adjustable sensitivity, and battery life. Comfort is also important since I sometimes weld for... Read more

My Own Firehall

One garage is full of tractors and atv's, so had to build a new home for my old Ford fire truck. Contractors did a great job. Was a busy summer. Never even got any of the antique tractors out to shows or parades this summer. Had the new garage built, renovated the house and finally had a transfer switch installed to power the house with my generator. No more running numerous extension cords! LOL What a great feeling to have everything the way I want it before I retire.

Injection pump problems

Hello all, I have an 06 kubota L3430 D-1703. I had a mechanic come to my house and change the fuel pump and tell me I needed a new High pressure injection pump. When I pulled it apart to replace port #1 was plugged. I replaced the pump went to bleed and pump #1 is not pushing any fuel. Why?

An older Everlast welder

Years and years ago, I bought an Everlast welder and I’ve been trying to get it to come back to life since I’ve not used it in at least 10 years. I took the Twico type connectors into the welding shop today too match them up and they do not match up to any typical thing that they’ve got on the shelf. Does anybody know what type connector the leads use? They measure half inch diameter and nothing that they had on the shelf matched up. This is a small welding shop. It’s a wall established... BX24 leaking FEL hoses

Noticed some hydraulic fluid dripping from the lower FEL lines. Cleaned up the area and found one fitting leaking and second fitting was wet. There are four hoses. The lower hose fitting looks like an air hose type fitting. The kind you push forward and pull back on to disconnect. I am thinking it must have a ball stop when the fitting is removed? The upper fitting looks like a standard NPT flare type fitting. The hoses are all color coded and the hard pipes are also color coded. Is this an... Read more

Not sure what to ask for

We have been having numerous storms over the past few years, wind, heavy rain and snow as well. We live on a 4 acre former strawberry and onion field. The perimeter is bordered wall to wall with trees, about 1500 linear feet of Norway maples, sherry, hickory etc. We get a lot of fall out after the heavy storms. Sometimes whole trees but all ways lots of sticks, grteen and otherwise. I trioed clean up with a york rake, way to aggressive even with home made sulky wheels. To many dips and... Read more

Hiniker scoop plow on a ToolCat

I have a new Bobcat Toolcat coming in a couple days. I'd like to put a new plow on it. I'm interested in the Hiniker 9' scoop plow but I'm having a difficult time finding anyone with experience with the Hiniker plow on a skid steer platform. I primarily used a Western Prodigy on my last Toolcat. I like it and will keep it as a backup but it is heavy at 900 plus lbs. The 9' Hiniker is a few inches wider and about 750 lbs. I have a small one-man operation servicing about twenty light... Read more
