So, a couple years ago our power company (Commonwealth Edison) sent out letters to everyone in our subdivision. Noting they would be coming though and "upgrading" the infrastructure here. Not sure what they did but I know they were pulling new wiring through and surveying in the easements. But sorta like the old saying "don't fix what ain't broke" we went from almost never seeing a power interruption to now nearly daily seeing interruptions of various lengths. Usually just enough to tick you... Read more

I’m having an issue finding a regulator for my Weber Q100. The part number is 80477 and I found one on Amazon considerably cheaper on Amazon. However, it is a different design and doesn’t fit within the plastic shield and into the burner properly. Any help on this. Here is a side by side comparison.
using the TVWBB amazon link of course! So far I have Cajun Bandit Door the cool touch vent handles an additional fire grate from Hunsaker i got 2 of the Remote thermometer bolt-on shelves (one for the 18, one for the new 22) from Hunsaker Hunsaker lid hinge - I chose this one since it doesn't have a pin to lose I got twenty 1.5" dual-locking casters from Amazon, hope they're stable and not stupid, will remove or consider the cart styles I've seen here... just received the Little Griddle today, seems nice for gassers, sturdy enough for campfire or burners (reinforced & vented bottom), too big for 22" kettle & WSM https://tvwbb.com/threads/almost-an...ill-change-my-mind.103602/page-2#post-1254701 Best price was @ Home Depot, seems decent if anyone's in the market
Enough meat for a day or two. So it was parmigiana time!
RCS doing an amazing job grilling up some 80/20 chuck fresh ground from our little shop in Cherry Valley. Love the way the ceramics work
I was wondering if anyone has had success finding off the shelf / aftermarket replacements for the temp probes of the iQ 110/120/130. I am not an electrician so I can't tell if similar products I found are suitable for the iQ temp controllers. I know they use "RFD" probes, and I have found some with the correct "plugs" on line, but don't know if there are other technical considerations to be accounted for or if they are all just plug and go. In the interests of full disclosure, I am... Read more
This turned out pleasantly nice. The steak was perfect for our liking. Soaked 32 hrs @ 134f refrigerated overnight then pan seared for an easy dinner tonight. I’m becoming a fan of slicing the steak before serving. I cobbled together a decent simple sauce for it out of what we had laying around. Served with some simple white sourdough. Our asparagus went bad so we did a slaw w/tots on the side instead. This ended becoming a TV dinner.
I 3d printed legs with casters so I don’t need the stock fixed legs or the wagon wheels/legs. $30 plus shipping obo!
Do any of you have any experience making hard cider? Got any tricks or tips you could offer? I want to make some hard cider as a fun project. I have about a gallon of fresh squeezed apple juice left from an apple crush party we recently went to and it’s readily available if I want more. I order some brewers yeast to increase abv and a couple of other things like a glass jug and an off-gasser fitting. I still need a hydrometer. I’m on the fence about a clarification additive. I think I’d... Read more
With +20 days of temps over 100 degrees, I hadn't fired up the offset in over 2 months! Hickory wood for this smoke. Ribs, ABT’s, homemade boudin & some beans. Back to the basics!
