In reply to Dp . I often can’t “park in front of my home”, there are too many extraneous cars parked on the city street sitting unused never going anywhere. Looking at this specific location on Wildwood and Fauntleroy, just about every affected home has off street parking already, and/or is situated on a corner, where parking is allowed on the side street. Eliminating the parking just makes it safer and easier for the affected drivers to get in and out of their driveways – because the daylighting lets them see “traffic” – which includes bicycles.

In reply to Amy . The bad taste came from the bagels that Bagelsonboard bought at that inferior shop.
In reply to Rankler . Au contraire . Bagels should be sold whole, ready to be cut or torn or just bitten into by the customer.
In reply to Bagel lover . Hah! In my East Coast experience (grew up in South Jersey, about a mile from the perpetual winner of Philadelphia Magazine’s award for best bagels in the Delaware Valley), respectable bagel shops sold bagels … period. By the half-dozen or (baker’s) dozen, for you to take home and eat as you saw fit.
In reply to Natinstl . Numbers don’t lie. Seattle was just ranked #4 in the world by Oxford Economics. We’re near the top economically and in the top 20% for governance (without Saka we’d probably be a lot higher). By objective measures, conducted by experts in the field, Seattle is thriving in comparison to other cities. https://www.oxfordeconomics.com/global-cities-index/
In reply to Dp . Does anyone have a right to a parking space directly outside their home? I didn’t think so. It’s public space. You don’t pay rent for it. If the best and highest use for that space is a bike lane that will save a future life (it is, in this case), I applaud the city for reallocating those parking spots.
Ah, that’s interesting about the key fob! Thanks for the tip!
In reply to bagelsonboard . I’m still trying to understand what in their response ‘left a bad taste in your mouth’.
In reply to Jadeplantmaster . Picture of the 35 yr old jade plant! Please!!!
It is interesting that they both appear to have black shoes and black pants. I find that is typical for many employers that require a “uniform” of sort in a customer facing position. Burglars don’t typically dress alike.
In reply to Dp . How many homeowners have frontage only on this side of this section of the street (it’s 2), and how many people should die on the street to preserve their parking?
In reply to Geo . Same here. All 4 of my are good old 5 speed manual trannys. I think everyone should have to learn how to drive a manual to get a State drivers license. It would get rid of all the drivers who don’t have a clue where they are going when they drive. Just like covid made them All scared and they stayed home. But that will never happen . They can sell more cars and make more money if everyone drives with auto trannys and the clueless ones having a tesla drive them around like sheep. Those people just need to take a bus if they are scared going 45 mph in the left lane on the freeway without a clue ……
