1985 Madura 700 or GV700

Was going nuts trying to find another project. I have been itching to get back into another V4. So happens that two in my area came up on market and I grabbed them both. Good thing, as one turned into a parts bike so the other could be almost factory. 1985 Madura 700 or GV700

What engines can fit (easily) into an FJ600?

I've had an FJ600 for many years. Last fall, after a few years in storage, I finally got it running good enough to ride it regularly. This summer I did some additional clean up and rode it a couple of hundred miles in a few rides. I decided to sell it (way too many bikes) and did so late last week. Two days later the guys who bought it said it wasn't running anymore and the starter engaged but didn't even turn it over. I told them to bring it back. They dropped it off and I looked at... Cleaning carbs myself as a beginner - Help!

Hello all, I have a 1985 Yamaha Maxim XJ700 that I am currently disassembling and cleaning the carbs of according to Rick Massey's guide I found on here. I'm up to the part about getting the pilot screws out and I was curious about people's opinions - do you think an ultrasonic cleaner from Amazon or something is necessary to clean all the carb bodies, it is carb cleaner spray enough? I got a rebuild kit off eBay so only the body really would benefit from such a cleaning. I also noticed that... Cleaning carbs myself as a beginner - Help!

XJ750 Seca fork oil height

Does anyone know oil level height for the XJ750 Seca anti-dive forks? Most sources including Len's pages say 309cc in volume, but the 750 Seca doesn't have a height setting listed for mm from the top anywhere that I can find. I prefer the height method of checking because I can just set the tool, overfill a little, the suck out the excess. It's easier than trying to measure out exactly 309cc of fluid.

Pilot jet question

I’ve got the Maxim X 700 and I noticed carb 1-3 have holes in the pilot jets while carb 4 does not. Could this be the cause of an unsteady idle? Which one is the right pilot jet? View attachment 53291

XJ750 36mm Showa Fork Cap Removal Tool

Yet another XJ tool. This one is for removing the fork caps on my '83 XJ750 Seca, but I think there are several other models that use the same 36mm Showa setup. (I bet @chacal knows which ones) These are the type where you have to push the cap in and hold it, while simultaneously digging a little wire clip out of a groove. Not easy to do with just two hands. Here's the write-up for the tool on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7412701 It could... XJ750 36mm Showa Fork Cap Removal Tool
