PIP claim help, plus ESA, DLA & Universal Credit forum

is a uc reapplication and reassessment required if a cash inheritance exceeds £16,000 uc threshold?

I have registered etc for this app and everything is set up. Once i log in it doesn't show anything ? I receive NS ESA and UC. Can you advise please? Thanks

I first applied for Universal credit in October 2024. I was then asked to complete a health assessment questionnaire from which a decision was made that I was fit to work. I twice appealed that decision and my case went to Tribunal on 2/9/26. The appeal was allowed and the Tribunal made 9 recommendations (listed below). I entered the decision of the Tribunal into my UC journal and have now been informed by the UC Full Service that they are "applying for a statement of reasons from the Tribunals Service for the decision made on 2/09/26 and may appeal against the First-tier Tribunal's decision." Whilst awaiting the Tribunal hearing date, my conditions deteriorated and in May 2026, the Job Centre asked me to submit fit/sick notes. I initially resisted because I knew that submitting a fit/sick note would trigger the need to complete another health assessment questionnaire. Although I informed the Job Centre that I was in the middle of an ongoing health journey, they insisted that I had to complete the questionnaire even though it would mean starting a second health journey before the first one was completed. They informed me that my claim may be affected if I did not do so and have now received a letter asking me to attend a health assessment on 24/09/26. Can anyone advise how much a single non working parent, with four children, two young children, currently pregnant again, be receiving from Universal credit. Amount being received seems very low and more in line with single persons amount rather than single parents amount. Person living in own property with low, long term mortgage, low savings, often going withdrawn . One child in receipt of 15 hour childcare, other child not old enough to receive this yet.

Hello, I am a bit anxious about my PIP review as it will be 4 months since it was sent in, at the end of this month. I heard people talking about the Gov1 site for extensions of PIP awaiting review and wondered if the site also gave results for those who have submitted reviews already?? I know I could just create an account and look, but I am scared to "put my head above the parapet" in case it is the wrong thing to do...may sound paranoid but the DWP can be difficult... I am also worried about a planned family holiday to Europe over a week or so at the end of October as of course I have to notify the DWP. I am concerned that they may contact me for an interview or phonecall in that period when I am away without my file of papers, and I am thinking of not going. But I would prefer to find out if there has been a decision as some people have said they found a decision online somewhere and they hadn't been informed by letter yet... Could anyone advise please? Hi, I am going to start the process of applying for ESA credits only in the hope of establishing LCWRA for my daughter so payments can be made as soon as she claims UC after leaving college. I'm collating evidence to send but have a question. Her EHCP lists her difficulties quite thoroughly. If the EHCP states she has xxxxx which causes her to xxxxx, which has been taken from the original report, would the EHCP be sufficient or do I need to find the original reports as well? Some of the reports are fairly old although still relevant, hence still being in the EHCP. Thanks

Hello , It’s been a long time since you last heard from myself but finally I need some help or advice again from B& W. My husbands original DLA claim was back in 1994 for his spinal problems but since then hubby has had dementia now for some years and now sadly suffers from stage 4 Alzheimer's . His DLA to PIp is still yet to come but Hubbys condition is steadily getting worse. He has partially problems with short term memory loss and now making himself understand properly so was thinking if a home visit would still be possible or what other choices would he have? Do the DWP still allow home visits? If so how we would go about asking for a home visit when the time comes to his transfer from DLA to PIP would be most welcome. Difficult times ahead. Hi everyone, I have just received a letter from the DWP informing me of the following: "We have looked at your claim again following a recent change. From 10 April 2026 your Employment and Support Allowance will be £145.90 a week. You are not getting any more income-related Employment and Support Allowance. 25 August We cannot pay you because you have a claim to Universal Credit." This is confusing as I have literally just received the same payment of ESA from the DWP and the breakdown on the other pages of the letter seems to suggest there has been no change to my ESA. What are they trying to tell me? Is the change not going to kick until the next payment or is there in fact no change after they looked at it again? I haven't received any other letters about my ESA or UC and I don't think they have tried to ring me. Thank you, much appreciated. Liam

I had to finish my job through ill health but was refused an ill health pension as being too young (I was 40) and told I could not access it until retirement age so I had to raise my children as a single parent living on benefits which I have hated. I am 60 and have not been able to work since due to disabilities. It is only recently now my children have grown up and left home that I have relooked at all my finances only to see that advice was absolutely wrong and I could have had access to the pension from the age of 55. My current income is ESA, PIP and universal credit of £400 a month and totals approx £1000 a month. I am still paying my mortgage. My deferred pension as of today is showing as minimum lump sum £38k and yearly pension £12,700K or max lump sum of £68k and pension £10,200k which is the option i would need in order to pay off my mortgage with a little left over for house repairs or put into an ISA . I understand that I would still be entitled to ESA and PIP until state pension age. Obviously taking either option would cancel my UC and the associated reductions such as council tax. But my figures show that I am better off claiming my pension now and coming off UC (which I will be thrilled to do) Is there anything that I have missed that anyone could offer advice on please.
