I received a small juvenile beani cichlid and chows down on the spirulina flakes as main diet since I got it a week ago. Tried northfin veggie pellets 1mm, and spits them out. I ordered spirulina bug bite flakes as well as I know these guys are primarily on the veggie side. Is it wise to try small 1mm omnivore pellets when they're at 2.5 inches or will it be cool with just the veggie flakes and wait to try veggie pellets when bigger?

Part II of my saga The 90 gal tank was setup in early August. I used the substrate, and rocks from the 45 gal. I added CaribSea Zack Sand (40lbs) and CaribSea Gravel (20lb) to what I had in the 45. I was given a wire stand that has a spot for a tank at floor level and another spot at normal height. I want to make use of all the space because my house is too small for another separate stand. I was thinking of a mbuna community for the bottom tank because it’ll be easy to enjoy from a distance and won’t require as much work with live plants. Greetings I am setting up a 125g tank and want to use an old 55g I have for the sump. This will be my first time using a sump system and was wondering if anyone knows of a website or other source that will design the plumbing, calculate flow rates and what to use as a return pump? Next week I'll be getting goldfish for the first time in my fishkeeping career. I have 24 years keeping and breeding tropical fish, snails, and shrimp, but I'm new to goldies. Going to get 2 or 3 fancies at 2-3" length (baby guys) for a 40 gallon bowfront that's 36" by 15" by 20"H. Will upgrade them later if they end up needing more room. The tank will be getting fully cycled filters from other tanks. I know my stuff when it comes to fishkeeping- just new to goldies. The temperature of the... Any Goldfish peeps here? Here are the parents and also the fry (edited video) growing out in a 10 gallon and also the parents have been moved to a 30 gallon planted setup. They are still settiling in as you can see here but their color and behavior are improving. I think the brigher lights in the new tank bothered them initially.
