Hello, I have been reading many threads on the Colt Forum however, I am new to posting a thread on this site. My question is, can anyone tell me the correct adjustable rear site to install on the 1911 Delta Elite Government Model? I have purchased a few sites with having no luck. It's a Gen 2 with Novak type cutout for the sites. I should have spent a little more and purchased the Gen 2.5 version with adjustable sites already installed like my Gold Cup Colt 1911 in .45 cal. I picked up a used Colt M1991A1 today... it came with two magazines - they're not factory magazines, but I've never seen magazines marked like these. They are standard 7-round magazines, with the old-type follower. They have the following stamped on the bottom of the baseplate: 19200- ASSY 5508694 MFR 30745 Does this have any significance?

Appears to be a beautiful all correct 1943 M1911A1 except…….that trigger. What is going on with that? Is that some kind of bolt on trigger accessory? I’d Love to put in a bid, but that trigger is holding me back.

There are any number of titles I could've given this thread. The Evil That Men Do is one. Say It Ain't So, Joe is another that comes readily to mind. For whatever it's worth, my point here is one I've mentioned many times. And that is it never fails to amaze me what someone will do to a gun in their desire to customize one, to make something unique. I've always thought that a Colt 1911 should wear Double Diamonds.

For the B & B: The serial number on this gun dates it to 1990. I've found others online purportedly from 1990 with a similar set up (beaver tail, delta hammer) but others with the standard tang safety and spur hammer. At first I chalked this up to a transition occurring during 1990, but something I just read makes me wonder. Would you say this gun (first pic) is or could be stock, or would it have come from the factory in 1990 with a tang safety and spur hammer? If modified, then... Delta Gold Cup QUESTIONS

Shooter or not, it has a box but not great, missing paperwork, s/n don't match box but only within 40 numbers. Pistol number says 1972 per s/n. Box says 1972. Shooter or not you ask. I've run 50 rounds of Win target thru with half failing to chamber, or stovepipe. Those that fail to chamber, I can pusd the slide forward ⅜inch and will then discharge with another trigger pull. I own a series 70 old cup and so am familiar w/1911's. At home broke the Commander down, inspected and cleaned but no issues noted. The stovepipes were failure to eject. Mags used, 1 Colt (furnished) and 2 Wilson combat, also new. I plan to run 100 rnds of different 1st class (and non target loads)... NEW Colt lite Commander night

This turned up locally - about 3 miles from my house. The seller, whom I've known for years, got it from the estate of a amateur gunsmith, also local here in north Georgia. The pistol has been used and abused and some small parts were missing. Probably the gunsmith robbed parts off of it for another pistol. I've replaced the missing parts except for the plastic mainspring housing. Still looking for one of those. The Colt Archive letter is nice, two pages long. It describes the First Edition...
