Recently eBay has started hiding initial offers made to clients - sometimes if the client messages me I can see the offer in the message trail. This makes it difficult to negotiate the price! What is the point of hiding the first offer - please tell me?

I am the seller. My buyer has confirmed they received the item. Royal Mail tracking notes show this happened on 8th September. However, the tracking still shows as being in transit and not delivered. Therefore I have not been paid for the item.
